It is April 2015, and the candidates from both of the big parties and probably some indipendent candidates are beginning to step up. Some are as expected, some will surprise us, I am sure. I would like to have this thread to keep track of the developments in the 2016 presidential race, and try to keep this one based on facts and dates. The discussion about what to make of the things happening is probably better done in other threads, in order to keep this one easier to use.
So by now we have two official Republican candidates, if I am not mistaken:

Today, Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton is expected to declare her candidacy, but this is speculation, even though it would be highly surprising if it weould not happen.
