something interesting i was thinking about earlier in the day because of the lineup on ABC with Houstons game being on first followed by Baylors game. RG3 actually commited to Houston first, than decided to follow Art Briles to Baylor. Case Keenum was only a sophmore at the time and he is now just leaving, Robert Griffin iii couldve been stuck his whole career as a backup unless he transfered if he had kept his commitment to Houston. Decisions Decisions.

i wasnt laughing @ you conner..if you look back some of these guys on here thought houston could play in the same park with lsu..thats what was funny.....then and now...i made up my mind today..they can put tulane in the NC game if they like..the only team in the ncaa thats got a chanch at all to beat lsu is alabama..and im not so sUre they can..lsu has a great team..and you cant wear them out..they 3 deep...(hope im wrong but bama better pack a big lunch)

I tend to agree that Alabama is probably the only team that can beat LSU, but that's because Alabama has a defense that can slow LSU down. Still, I wonder if OSU manages to leap Alabama, would the OSU defense continue it's miracle streak of turnovers against an SEC team? Would the OSU offense find a way to compete against an overwhelming SEC defense? I doubt it.

The title game should be the best two teams in the country, Bama and LSU, but as we all know, we are forced to live with a severely flawed system called BCS (the B stands for Bullshit). Even though I didn't think it would happen, I wanted OSU to crush the Sooners. Now, I want Bama to stay at #2 and have their rematch with LSU. This will, or at least it should cause some controversy in the BCS, which I hope will stir demand for a playoff.

As for my pick in a rematch, I'd like to see LSU win for two reasons. First, an LSU win would cause more debate as a lot of people would use the excuse that Bama should not have been given a second shot at LSU since they failed the first time. Second, a good friend of mine is an LSU fan living here in Birmingham, and all year long, all our Bama friends have mouthed off at him and his team. I thought after LSU beat Bama in November, it would have shut them up, but it only got worse.

Anyhow, we've still got a few hours to wait for the final poll and I have an odd feeling, this morning the churches in Alabama are gonna be full of praying Tide fans.

The outcome of the USM-Houston game was was very predictable considering the circus that was the week that preceded the game. Taking nothing away from USM....they came in and kicked the Cougars' butts on both sides of the ball. Impressive win for sure and congrats to them. However, all the talk swirling around Kevin Sumlin simply had to have an effect on the Houston players. If so, it sure showed. Interesting that the first question that was asked at Sumlin's post-game news conference was "Have you reached an agreement with Texas A & M?". Despite the denials from Sumlin, the Cougar players had to feel a bit like they were being kicked to the curb this past week.

Brings up an interesting question.....should schools be permitted to negotiate with prospective coaches who are currently under contract with another school whose season has yet to conclude? If you do this with players in major professional sports, they call it "tampering". Shouldn't coaches in the NCAA be under the same gag-rule?

Anyway, it was a great season nonetheless and things look really bright for the future at the University of Houston.

I did :1orglaugh when I heard Gundy say after the game last night that his team could score 36+ on LSU...

We shall see tonight who gets the nod. But this is a perfect example of why an 8 team playoff or even a +1 game would be better. If nothing else, this season might serve to change the BCS if even a little.

Personally I think either Bama or LSU would beat OSU, their defenses and overall talent level are just too good, but again that's just MHO.

I would agree.

Congrats to Southern Miss. And when you got ass whupped like UH did, don't even dare blame it on "distractions". USM just came out and balled, and UH took them for granted.

Sadness for Michigan State, falling just short once again. Going for the block was a bonehead decision. With a hot Kirk Cousins, you have to give him a chance.

Oklahoma State beats yet another winning team, their 7th. Alabama has beat only 3 winning teams. Just sayin'.

My Top 10:

1 LSU
2 Oklahoma State
3 Alabama
4 Oregon
5 Stanford
6 USC
7 Arkansas
8 South Carolina
9 Wisconsin
10 Boise State

its weird.....there really is no 'right' answer for the matchup.

Technically, it wouldn't be fair for LSU to rematch with 'Bama.
I don't think Ok. State is as balanced as Bama. The better game/matchup is LSU vs Bama. Bama really is the #2 team in the country. You'll also remember that Jarrett Lee was the QB in that game pretty much up until the second half. For better or worse, there was a different dynamic there.

The more exciting matchup may include Ok State, but I don't see them being able to compete with LSU in any sense. LSU by 13. If I were to look at this as a 'fan' wanting to see LSU get another NC, I'd want to see LSU play the Cowboys.

Well, final AP poll is out:

I feel pretty confident Oklahoma State is gonna jump Alabama into the title game. Oklahoma State picked up a load of votes. They jumped up from 5 to 3, and the margin between Bama and OSU is very small. Remember, the actual number of votes are considered, not just the fatc that that one is #2 and one is #3. And you know Oklahoma State's computer numbers got a big boost in the strength of schedule department by playing Oklahoma.

It's gonna be LSU - Oklahoma State, I feel it. Could be wrong, and if I am, I'll take my lumps. But I don't think I will be.

I still think Bama is going to get the second spot by the thinnest of margins, than were going to have the most boring BCS championship game all time. Ive been finding kind of hilarious some talkitive sports commentators who always bitch and moan about field goal fests being snoozers, but the 9-6 LSU-Bama game was beautiful football, the way the game should be played....I dont really care what their opinions, i just like consistency.

Not "blaming" it on distractions....I'm just saying they were a factor. USM gets all the credit. They came out ready to play and Houston didn't. That's it.

BCS is out:

1 LSU
2 Alabama
3 Oklahoma State
4 Stanford
5 Oregon
6 Arkansas
7 Boise State
8 Kansas State
9 South Carolina
10 Wisconsin

Just about right I guess. The BCS is boring....imagine LSU going against KSU in a first-round playoff game next week. Or Alabama and Boise etc. Oh well, MLB spring training is only 3 1/2 months away!!

LSU vs Alabama...

Well, OSU closed the gap considerably, but not enough. Now, the bitching can begin.

On a different note, I read a very interesting story about the playoff system that Mike Slive proposed in 2008 and how virtually everyone (except the ACC) rejected it, and how this rejection ultimately led to the collapse of the Big East and defection of keys members of the Big 12. This is a great story:

Well it's official. The SEC will take yet another National Championship for the 6th straight year. Hopefully, Bama whips up on that bayou Bengal ass this time around.

here ya go yummi..a nice hot plate of cRow..would you like fries or baked cowboys with that? (just kiddin) but on a real note..i guess bama fans is the only one happy about this at the moment..but as the tention builds..every single one of you will be in fromt of the tv jan 9 (i know because i couldnt wait for auburn and oregon last year)however as a bama fan..i would give up our seat in the nc game for a playoff this very moment..we dont like this shitty system anymore than you guys, we just happen to be standing on the right side tHis time...even tho i think the 2 best teams are in the game..i would have much rather beat okl st on the field and proved we was 2 no town in alabama called (gimme) they dont give us shit we are usually the one on the shitty end of the stick
