i wasnt laughing @ you conner..if you look back some of these guys on here thought houston could play in the same park with lsu..thats what was funny.....then and now...i made up my mind today..they can put tulane in the NC game if they like..the only team in the ncaa thats got a chanch at all to beat lsu is alabama..and im not so sUre they can..lsu has a great team..and you cant wear them out..they 3 deep...(hope im wrong but bama better pack a big lunch)
I tend to agree that Alabama is probably the only team that can beat LSU, but that's because Alabama has a defense that can slow LSU down. Still, I wonder if OSU manages to leap Alabama, would the OSU defense continue it's miracle streak of turnovers against an SEC team? Would the OSU offense find a way to compete against an overwhelming SEC defense? I doubt it.
The title game should be the best two teams in the country, Bama and LSU, but as we all know, we are forced to live with a severely flawed system called BCS
(the
B stands for Bullshit
). Even though I didn't think it would happen, I wanted OSU to crush the Sooners. Now, I want Bama to stay at #2 and have their rematch with LSU. This will, or at least it should cause some controversy in the BCS, which I hope will stir demand for a playoff.
As for my pick in a rematch, I'd like to see LSU win for two reasons. First, an LSU win would cause more debate as a lot of people would use the excuse that Bama should not have been given a second shot at LSU since they failed the first time. Second, a good friend of mine is an LSU fan living here in Birmingham, and all year long, all our Bama friends have mouthed off at him and his team. I thought after LSU beat Bama in November, it would have shut them up, but it only got worse.
Anyhow, we've still got a few hours to wait for the final poll and I have an odd feeling, this morning the churches in Alabama are gonna be full of praying Tide fans.
