Another year begins just as the old one ends. Might as well get things rolling right out of the chute on the heels of the NC game last night. Here we go again!

Could the SEC win it 6 straight years with 5 different teams? I think South Carolina has a shot.

But of course I got to rep OU... Boomer Sooner!

Looking forward to next season already!

What is amazing is that the SEC West has produced 3 different MNC winners in the last few years... should be tough sledding again in '11. LSU/Bama winner is my early pick to win the W, outside shot for Arky. For the SEC East, USCe has a lot coming back, but UF and UGA have a shot depending how how well they gel.

First preseason top 10 list is already out (and we all know what those are worth!):

1. Oklahoma
2. Oregon
3. LSU
4. Stanford
5. Alabama
6. Florida State
7. Nebraska
8. South Carolina
9. Texas A&M
10. Michigan State

Wow, that's a problematic list.

(Notre Dame isn't on it...)

Oh, I'm kidding. STFU

Thanks for starting the thread, Jagger.

Anyone else think Auburn maybe should be on that list? Think they can do much without Newton?

Not next year, losing a lot of the defense, 4 out of 5 on the OL, and of course the controversial Cam Newton. In the loaded SEC West, I wouldn't be surprised if they finish 4th in the division... LSU is stacked, Bama has a lot coming back, and Arky and MSU will be pretty good.

The Sooners and the Ducks. Okay. But watch out for the Seminoles. Their D is impressive even if Bradham leaves, and the O will be improved now that Manuel has had some time in. Plus they've had a helluva recruiting class.

Ha! I thought about starting an 11/12 thread but didn't have the balls to do it. So, thank you Jagger.....and your balls too. ;)

With the 10/11 season behind us, what was your favorite moment? For me I'd have to say this is definitely one of my faves....

Unfortunately it's worth quite a bit actually. While the ranking might be stupid themselves the teams that are placed at the top before they do anything on the field receive a substantial advantage.

I can't believe it has been a year since Alabama beat Texas and the 10/11 thread was put up. Anyway, good stuff. I see Florida State is ranked 6, God help us all. I don't think you can argue with the top 2, though I might flip-flop them, UO 1 and OU 2. And btw I'm not 100 % sure Cam Newton isn't coming back. If he does, even without Fairley, they'd be REAL good, that defense should only get better as well as their playmakers on offense. In fact, with a good game manager at QB they are top 10 quality.

Auburn would be losing practically their entire defense and 4/5 of the offensive line. They aren't going to be very good next year.

I would like to see Florida return to a top power. I also hope Georgia has a better season and Florida State continues to improve and become a top 10 team again.

Sure would be nice to see the SEC win it's 6th straight National Championship.

It's official. Hoke is in at Michigan.

I don't see an advantage, D-rock. If it were an actual poll then perhaps there would be some slight recruiting advantages but this is just some list put together by a blogger. Meaningless from my perspective except as a discussion point. JMO of course :2 cents:

There is no way I will be commenting on the Maildude St Spartans next season. I am sleeping on them  Not following into that trap or the trap of Wisconsin winning B10-12 league games by 50 points. I didn't realize Brady Hoke spent so long as a Michigan assistant. I think I will change my mind about that hire and give it a  SDSU hasn't looked as good as they've looked since Marshall Faulk was running wild for them.

As for the Mighty USC Trojans...everything hinges on Jan 22 - Feb when the NCAA will review AD Haden's appeal. I HOPE the NCAA wises up and allows USC to appear in a Bowl Game. Keep the scholie reduction if you want. The team has to have something to play for or the season is meaningless. Another season with no bowl game to play in is pretty much a waste of a season. LA fans and SC alums are not the greatest fans around, so any excuse not to show up will be taken.

My top 10

1. LSU
2. Oregon
3. Florida State
4. Mississippi State
5. Bama
6. Ohio State (an easy early schedule will keep them going)
7. Oklahoma
8. TCU (someone needs to beat them)
9. Nebraska
10. South Carolina

I think Stanford and Auburn and Boise State all fall out of the top 10 for the entire season.

Wow, you seem to be very high on Florida State. If you saw their game against OU I doubt you put them there.

I think they finally get rid of Ponder and with the recruits they have coming in...look out.

Besides, the ACC is awful. I don't know about OU. Not won over by them at this point. :dunno: Big 12 is definitely theirs for the taking.
