Well, I'd have to say America got outplayed today for sure. That said, if Altidore scores that goal they get the W. Thanks to Tim Howard it was not a blowout. The U.S. looked stronger and played better in the second half. England can't afford to play Carragher anymore. He is a statue out there. Tim Howard played brilliantly. Shaun Wright-Phillips is going to be haunted by his miss.

English fans only issue death threats to foreign referees. I thought the US along with Greece were the poorest team I've seen so far (so many displaced passes and rarely held possession) but that made England look even worse as they are one of the favourites to win the tournament and should be burying teams that play like this. All our 1st team players with the exception of the keeper(s) and veteran Heskey are worth 17m - 30m each, why I don't know. :dunno:
Wow, the bar down the street was full of "pink hats" wearing England shirts and jersies, and the queerest Cockney accents, ordering ales and lagers...sadly these folks were American that pretended to be English, anyway the game was quite boring both teams could have done better.
The English announcer for ABC here in America looked pisssssed after the game in his post-game wrap up. He predicted a 3-1 victory. :rofl:
I didn't think it was boring at all. I thought it was pretty intense. I was just on the edge of my seat the whole game rooting for the Yanks.
Tomorrow's Algeria-Slovenia game is gonna be interesting to see because if one team wins, they take the group by the balls with three points.

fuck those up then they should simply fuck off back home and think

I think if any of the better teams got hold of them tonight they
would have been put out if,it were the knock out rounds.
Good result for the US although they weren't as good as they
were last year.I still think the furthest they can hope for will
be a 2nd round place.
Argentina started slowly but with the firepower they have up front.
I still think they will go far.South Korea did ok against the terrible
Greeks who I think have been the worst team so far.
It will be interesting to see how England's next opponents fair and

During the U.S.'s run at the Confederations Cup last year a lot of you homos were downplaying the U.S.'s results then. Maybe change your thinking now? :dunno:

Agreed, France are pitiful, but deserve to be as they are in a tournament they never truly earned a place in. Well done USA, you deserved a draw!
Didn't we get to quarters last WC, or was it '02? I'd like to see us get to semi's this year. And you never know...maybe they will gel and have a "Miracle in Africa"... I don't know, I guess I am an optimist when it comes to the US in international sports stuff.
I've seen the replay of the Altidore shot a couple more times and it's a shame he didn't put that thing away. :nono:

2002 was an exceptional World Cup. Safe for Brazil all the good teams played like shit. We ended up with the US and Senegal in the quarterfinals and Turkey and Korea in the semis. The US should have won against Germany, but that tournament is no benchmark.
If the US team advances in SA they'll either face Germany or Serbia in the next round. I see no way they can beat the Germans who appear to be in pretty good shape.
Serbia might be beatable due to their wacky defense, but to accomplish that the US would have to score at least two or three goals, since the Serbs have awesome strikers.
