..and 1-1. So nobody won and nobody lost?

and we wonder why soccer isnt popular in America.

Again...your naivete is showing. It's the most popular sport in the world. Something that you probably have no clue about. :dunno: Football is an American construct, and I will reiterate again, rather boring with a commercial on tv every tweny seconds. Basketball? Meh, it's alright once in a while, and baseball is pretty good.

It was still boring, the scores were 1-1 and 0-0, nobody won and no one lost. The one time I really give soccer a chance and it was as boring as fuck.

Hopefully the US and England match is better, with scoring and there was actually a fucking winner.

That group is wide open. I was expecting a performance from Mexico, and it didn't happen. One of my sleepers Uruguay did well, though Domenech sure helped.

Just because there are no goals doesn't mean there are no scoring chances.

A scoring chance in soccer is like a long pass completion or a long run from a running back in American Football. It's exciting to watch but it doesn't end in a score. Would American Football be watchable if every run was 3 yards or the only completed passes were 5 yards :dunno:

It's hard to score in soccer!

Use your brain and you will "see the game." You can see players make runs and pick out where passes should go. The game has the movement and speed of hockey.

Plus, it's over in about 90 minutes  You can watch a game and still get shit done. It isn't an all day long--5 hr marathon like American Football is :weeping:

And you don't get a god awful commercial every two minutes. Seriously, when the NFL comes back on in Fall watch how many commercials there are. I don't know why I'm the only one who seems to see this issue.

Soccer is a continuous event and the better for it.

Still rather watch NFL.

NFL sucks. 40 on the clock till the next play. avg. play 4-6 seconds. then they get a 40 sec. play clock again. lol american sports are for fat fucks lol in baseball where else would u see a fat pitcher that doesnt hit, just pitches lol americans lol but i wouldnt expect you to understand conditioning, endurance and athleticism. after all your american.

:rofl2:

The thing with most Americans is their fascination for massive scores. To most of them, the thought of anything with a draw or small score is something that cant be comprehended. For them a loony court battle involving tall tossers filling baskets without any proper strategy for hours means entertainment.
Anyways...this is not a 'Is Football(ITS FOOTBALL FOR GODs SAKE not soccer) better or not topic'

@Topic
Kudos to SA for a glorious ceremony and good second half performance. The manager really put few harsh words in their ears.Still a Half fit/ in-bad form McCarthy would have made a world of difference.Should have been in their 23.
Mexico were shocking in the second half.Wasted too many chances and why didn't they field Ochoa.Man he is a solid man to have between the posts.

France are a shocker. No Malouda. This lad was as instrumental in the Blues winning the league as Lamps, Terry etc.He had a super season and he of all people doesn't feature in their side. And I would pick an Henry over Sidney any day.

As for today, I am really hoping the boys kick the hell out of the Americans. They have been a little too loud for many weeks before the tournament started.Hope we win with a 3-0 or 4-0 scoreline to shut them up.

Though match of the day is without a shadow of doubt between the Argies and Nigeria. And I have a gut feeling, the physically strong Eagles might just cause an upset and beat the Argentinian side.

Your location says Texas. Are you making fun of me for being American. Did Texas already leave the union?

All sports you named still more entertaining than soccer.

Fat fucks? Yeah like a Peyton Manning, LeBron James and Derek Jeter. Those fat asses.:1orglaugh The only fat people are lineman but I expect people to talk ridiculous shit about the NFL in a soccer thread.

Conditioning, endurance and athleticism I wouldnt understand? :1orglaugh
Ive played football for the past 11 years, so I know a thing or 2 about them.

With that said I am looking forward to USA vs England tonight. Hopefully it isnt boring and dosent end 0-0 or 1-1 again.

Thats cause you guys are terrible at basketball.
With language like loony and Tall tossers!? Yeah your English.
No strategy!?

The older football was better, IMO. You had lineman that weren't 400lb, throwing up from mini-camp, literally dying from heat exauhstion. It's happened a few times that a guy has croaked. That's why no linemen wanna go to the mini-camps, or even a guy like Brett Favre, FWIW. Today the game really just bores me, and it's mainly because I can't maintain enough attention with all the bloody commercials. Also the fact that they play a pussy 16 game schedule.

Another thing are the announcers and all their sensationalizing of all the players. My dad - who's in like three fantasy football leagues every year and has won many of them - can't even watch with the volume up because of the announcers. It's pretty pathetic. I'll watch but my Vikings have let me down way too many times for me to really root for them. '98 was bad but last year was almost the nail in the coffin for me. I still have an authentic Randy Moss jersey hanging in my closet though. :thefinger
