Anyone see the Yankee's sent down Ian Kennedy?

I think the central will pan out. Tigers got off to a very slow start but they should be able to climb into first or second along with the indians within the next month or so.

Yes, I had heard about Kennedy. Looks like he will be replaced in the rotation by Kei Igawa. Darrell Rasner started today in Phil Hughes' spot in the rotation. Rasner got the win as the Yanks swept the Mariners.

The Mets won 5-2 today to take the series from the D-Backs. Santana had a good start, but Jorge Sosa got the win as the Mets scored 3 in the 8th to break a 2-2 tie. It's now on to Los Angeles! Oliver Perez will start against Chad Billingsley in the opener.

I meant to mention in my last post, that if you haven't heard, Julio Franco has finally retired, finishing his career in the Mexican League.

dang man....the rays swept the sox a week ago....n now they got swept by them

Gagne and Yost are pissing me off.

Ah, well. I didn't have high expectations anyway.

Well magnet and bodie's Dodgers wound up taking 2 out of 3 from my Mets. In the final game of the series today, John Maine pitched 8 1/3 innings allowing only 4 hits as the Mets exploded for a 12-1 victory. In the first two games of the series, the Dodgers pitching staff held down the Mets quite well, winning 5-1 in the first game of the series and 5-4 in the second. The Mets' bats will need some consistency, no doubt, to succeed in the long haul.

I'm really disappointed about how the Yankees have done so far. Of course, there are injuries but somebody's got to pick up the slack when guys go down. I think they're 20-24 right now. There are still a lot of games to be played but they're just not showing any fire right now. It used to be that you'll see them come back from 3 runs down but that's not happening anymore. I hope they turn it around soon. Thankfully, A-Rod is coming back. Go Yankees!!!:nanner:

Looks like home runs are WAY down so far this year. And so are pitchers throwing velocities. It's pretty obvious that the Mitchell report has scared a lot of players. Looks like the steroid era is over.

Well one of my favorite players "Brian Roberts" whom had his named mentioned in the report has seen a decline in his numbers too.

i saw the rays last night in oakland very good young team with a great future. the a's need to get a new trainer their 10th player went on the dl and they have at least 2 others that could go at anytime,it was nice to see frank crush a couple longballs. the yankees offense is so outta wack and thier pitching is worse take away wang and they might be challenging the padres for the worst record in baseball

Well Yanks have a long road ahead of them with the Rays and Sox pretty much having a stranglehold don the division. Oh gotta give props to my boy Jacoby Ellsbury.

Ellsbury has just been amazing. Hasn't been caught stealing yet last I checked. The last player who had such a success rate I remember was Carlos Beltran when he was with the Royals. He's still got a good rate now, but back then he was amazing.

The Yanks had 2 blow-out losses in a row. I have to admit this is getting a little hairy. Mussina gave up 7 runs in 2/3 of an inning?! What's happening in the Universe?

Mussina gets by on hitting his spots now, so if he misses it gets crushed.offense is way down acroos the league since this is year 2 of no steroids and amphetamines and the stuff is now cycled out of the players systems,i belive we will return to hr leaders hitting 45-50 and high 30's will be considered a great season again.will somebody explain to me how the padres suck so bad.

A classic from the 5/21 Tribe vs. White Sox game.

MLB invoked their copyright and the video is no longer visible when I clicked on the link. What was it anyway? And by the way, nice cans. ;)

It wasn't that unassisted triple play, was it? Because that was actually 5/12 Indians vs. Blue Jays. I don't think anyone has mentioned that play yet on here. The best link I can give you guys is a nice little article on that particular play.
