The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
more like third place. both cleveland and detroit are better than the sox.

In regards to record, yes. In regards to the potential talent...no. :dunno:

I've been a White Sox fan my whole life and let's be honest...we are TERRIBLE this year. Talent-wise, we should be in first or second place, eaaaaaasily. Now, PRODUCTION-wise, we absolutely DESERVE the terrible season we are having. It's going to take a God damned miracle for us to make the playoffs. I'm not saying that it can't happen...it just WON'T happen.

Oh well...

Like the banners on the buses in Chicago said after we won the World Series...

"There's always next year...well, and last year"

Sox!

Yeah, this year started off so right with Buehrle's no hitter too. Shame really. But after how they faded last year, I really wasn't expecting them to come out of this brutal division this year anyway. Still, they could at least finish ahead of the Royals. Really in danger of that disgrace becoming a reality. :(

Buehrle, how have the Sox not inked him up? I know they have a history of not giving long term contracts to pitchers, but shit, this guy is going to be able to pitch solid for another...10 years. He's kinda like a left handed Maddux...only....he's not Maddux.

Wow , Clemens pitched a good game AND the Yankees actually won, wow I think i may have a heart attack.

To All Anti-Cubs Fans out there....

I decided to make a remake of a popular Chicago Cubs song. It took me all of 4 minutes to whip this together. It's kind of catchy.... Me and some of my friends are going to make a video of us singing this song. I included a link of the video of the orignal song below. This way you can sing along with the music.

Suck, Cubs, Suck
by: Hung-Lo

Baseball season's underway
Well you better get ready for a long boring day.

Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna lose today.

They're singing ...
Suck, Cubs, Suck
Suck, Cubs, Suck

Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna lose today.

Suck, Cubs, Suck
Suck, Cubs, Suck

Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna lose today.

They still got Prior, they still have Wood
They can’t get rid of them if they could
Well this ain’t the year and curses are real
So stay away from Wrigley Field

We're singing now ...

Suck, Cubs, Suck
Suck, Cubs, Suck
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna lose today.

Suck, Cubs, Suck
Suck, Cubs, Suck
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna lose today.

Bartman time is here again
He can screw you all on WGN
So scratch your ass and shoot rubber bands
Chicago Cubs got the drunkest fans.

You're singing now ...

Suck, Cubs, Suck
Suck, Cubs, Suck
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna lose today.

Suck, Cubs, Suck
Suck, Cubs, Suck
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna lose today.

I'm hoping for the best from my Brewers. However, I'm optimistically cynical, so...

However, I did pledge to pee my pants if they make it to the playoffs.

is he even still worth the huge contract he would have received last year? :dunno:
Well, you're the Indians fan, you tell us. He is having an off year. That's a tight division, you guys don't want to lose any ground. They should for sure ink a contract for Sabathia before '09.

cc should be top priority. after sizemore of course. but since grady was signed, its now time to show cc the money. they can do without hafner. garko is being groomed to take his spot. but, the thing with hafner is, he is swinging at bad pitches. he strikes out way too much. he is not clutch at all this year. his .250 batting average is also a concern, seeing as though he leads the league in walks. and with all the hard times he has had since april, he is 11th in rbi's. that may be a credit to the team though. maybe he is worth a lot of money, but i dont think so. with shoppach improving and turning a lot of heads with his bat, hafner may be on the way out. travis hafner, come 2009, may be in pinstripes. (i think there is a team option in 2008 for hafner. not sure) i do not want to see him go, but it may be better for the team if they keep that money and go after a non dh. remember, the key in this is kelly shoppach.

I would be hesitant to ever give a pitcher a long-term contract. They're just too big of an injury risk and they collapse too much of the time in performance. To do so a general manager would have to be a psychic seer or the pitcher would have to be the next Clemens or Randy Johnson where they have a near supernatural ability not to wear down and last forever. If somebody were pitching like Pedro back in 1998 I still wouldn't give them anything longer than 3 or 4 years outside of being somebody with the money like the Yankees where you can afford big mistakes with your money.

Buehrle will be good as long as he can keep his walk rate down. If he ever looses any control and goes up he will be in trouble considering he isn't that big of a strikeout machine.

How old is Hafner? If he's like 30 or somewhere around there it might be time to start thinking about getting rid of him especially if he wants a giant contract. Most likely his performance will start to slowly drop off from her on out. I wouldn't worry too much about his batting average or the rest of his performance yet. Out of most factors one of the more variable ones from year to year is batting average so maybe he is just having a down year. I don't know how the Indians’ financial situation is, but it might still not be a bad thing to keep him if possible.

Yeah, well he's inked up now. I think it's best that they retained him, rather then let him go to free agency. I could see a trade to the Yanks too.

What's wrong with Bruce? :dunno: I have great respect for him. Well, as much as I respect ANY umpire, but anyhoo...

That fucker robbed Milt Pappas of a perfect game. A perfect game! That fucker.

I'd be hesitant to give a long term contract to flame thrower too. But a fundamentally solid pitcher, who just eats up innings, and is a lefty, like Buehrle, who gave a 50 million dollar home town discount, is a no brainer. And no, he's not a strikeout machine. He's a gound-ball pitcher, and a good one at that.
Oh, I was so hoping that the Sox management would goof the signing so I could raze my White Sox fans for letting him go.

29-30, somewhere in that range. as christmas ape said, he got signed. saw the email this morning. im shocked they gave him money. maybe players want to play in cleveland now?
