ugh! yankee fans. when he does bad, i hear it. when he does good, i hear it.

Of course, with the money he is getting, he better do great, and yes we will bitch when he does bad for the same reason, if you are gonna get paid like he does, you had better perform every game. I don't know about other cities, but here in NY we expect nothing but the best every game from every team we are a fan of, and we get pissed when we don't get it. A little much? You bet!! But that's NY, we expect the best, and nothing less....it's too bad we don't always get it though :1orglaugh

LMAO. its a shame for baseball that not all new york teams dominate. you got, by my count, non yankee new york teams have 2 titles since 1990. spread the love around. :1orglaugh

Well, well, Indians are off to a good start. All the hype about the Indians last year and poof - nothing. But they seem to always do better flying under the radar. Maybe this is their year..

:dunno:

..naaaah! :D

I know this is a little off topic but how do you people feel about that Eli Manning trade. :1orglaugh

I'm not a fan of Pinella either. Oh well the 100 year wait continues.

David Ortiz is starting to warm up a little in the series against LAA. Had 3 RBI lastnight and a couple more this afternoon including a HR in the 8th. Now if they could only get Manny to wake up. J.D. Drew and Eric Hinske have been picking up some of the slack though. That's nice to see.

Nahhhhhhh, i want the Yankees and only the Yankees to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Normally I love seeing Rivera blow the occasional save but not today when I picked the Yanks over A's. One lousy out away and Rivera gives up a game winning HR to some guy named Marco Scutaro. Who the fuck is he?! This guy who couldn't break the lineup on any other club strikes out twice earlier and then in the bottom of the 9th hits a 3 run bomb off the foul pole. Bullshit!

Hey, people forget Mo IS human, as hard as that is to believe, but even Sandman has the occasional off day. Too bad it had to be against a nobody

I remember years ago when Rivera seemed practically invincible. You knew the other team was screwed late in the game if they were behind. For some reason that changed a little after Luis Gonzalez got that hit off of him in the 2001 Word Series. After that he seemed like an incredibly good pitcher, but also one that didn't have an aura of invincibility like he had before. It was like there was at least hope you could hit off of him.

and a few years later Ortiz made it really evident that you could hit off him.

I'm thinking you were sitting down the first base line near the bullpen?

So how'd you enjoy the festivities?
The telecast, for the most part, was outstanding.
Rachel Robinson is a wonder.
That woman is 84, and way sharper than a tack.

sort of. i was on the first base side right behind the dugout, second tier.

it felt like they forced it down my throat, but i did enjoy her oration. i could have done without the choir too.

Those are some excellent seats.

And that means it wasn't you I saw, after all!

She's a terrific speaker, for sure.
Apparently the choir sang one of her very favorite songs.

So anyway...it's rivalry week in the iam household, and mrs iam won round one 10 to 3, correct?
