to me... the Bulls aren't good enough to knock off either the Pistons or the Celtics. *i believe the Celtics are as advertised* The bulls are the same team from last year and they'll get knocked off in the conf. semifinals.

Other than that... you got the Cavs, the Nets, the Heat... they're not making the eastern conference finals.

In the NBA Finals, I agree with JohnnyThompsons' reasons on why the West won't win the championship unless the Spurs make it.

I agree about the Bulls, but I still think the east is wide open anyway you look at it. I'd have to really see the new Celtics play before I could make any real guess. But judging by Doc Rivers' track record, they ain't winning the title anytime soon.

For me, I wouldn't bet against anyone of the top 6 teams in the west against whatever team comes out of the east. If it was that bad last year, it probably hasn't improved that much in one year. :2 cents:

Yeah, Doc Rivers might just be what will hold the Celtics back. Or injuries!

Jermaine in NJ? I'd love to see that! Goddamn Lakers won't trade off Lamar and Bynum for the big guy.

Imma Laker Fan and I understand the frustration, but Odom and Bynum is too much to give up for Jermaine O'neal.

Keeping their bigs that they've invested in comes with the risk of an unhappy superstar in Kobe. All this drama will build up and I can't wait for midseason when the losses (or wins) start to rack up to see what's really the deal.

Would you guys want a FreeOnes NBA Fantasy League on Yahoo Sports? :D

I know I would be down. :)

Im picking th Bulls in the East and SA in the West. I like what the Bulls are doing, I just hope that they can become more consistent this year. And I never pick against Tim Duncan. lol.

I would love to join, but I don't have any free time on my hands. It's probably for the best since I would most likely dominate the league.;)

^ who told you that.. and what a fucking excuse! ;) use the freetime you have to surf freeones and keep up with the fantasy league while you do so.

i'd join, no doubt about it, but we need more members

^ don't forget about daness23, and maybe JohnnyThompson

there's no deal for Kobe would make any sense and if anybody can think of one please share it, i'm sure it's hilarious. But remember who's responsible the whole fucking thing... after Phil and Shaq left, Kobe wanted to try and prove he could win by himself. Now look at him ;)

I know, and Buss is saying that he'll entertain trade offers. Lets cut the BS, he aint going anywhere. But the only thing that I could see work, is like a multi team trade happens.

Now you're talking. Hmm...when I started thinking about teams with a lot of tradeable players I thought - New York, Golden State. Would Indiana still be in the mix? Oh yeah the Lakers wanted Kobe WITH Jermaine, not FOR him. Lol. Let's see how this works out, I say it'll depend on the team's standing, but it'll definitely be noisy in LA until post-all-star weekend! :D

Ayt that's 4 sure fantasy league members.

I can't see Kobe or Phil staying with the Lakers past this season. Phil might be a consultant after his contract is up, but that's about it.

i don't see Kobe in L.A. next year but i see it as more of a Kobe vs Front Office issue than against Phil Jackson.

7 years 136.4M was signed in 2004
i would post the link but i found it on another message board

but it didn't say anything about details

his contract is up practically after the 2008-09 season, as he has an option on the last two years of his deal. So he has played 3 of the 7 so far. He has 2 more under contract, and the last 2 are optional. If he doesn't get dealt from the Lakers and if the Lakers do not improve dramatically in those 2 years, then he will opt out.
