Well, I definitely think the lists should exist since we insist on letting the sex offenders back out onto the streets. They don't do any good if people don't know where to find them but it's a good idea in theory. It's better than letting the sex offenders move in right next door to a day...

Personally, I think it's a good idea because sexual offenders are notorious for relapsing. The percentage of repeat offenders is astounding and to date there is no "cure" for someone who is a sexual predator. Counseling has no effect and so far the only thing that has even come close is...
