Maybe you should ask why, and tell them you're nervous about being awake for the procedure. They might be able to find a way to manage it since frequently when people say something "can't" be done often what they mean is that it's "inconvenient". With some pressure they might be able to swing it.

This is referring to impacted wisdom teeth, and specifically in New York. That's costly. I actually priced it out. At most places it's about $2,000 for all four in NY under those circumstances. Unless of course the sources I looked at were wrong. It was a quick look, not an in depth search...
