Was having the same issue. The mistake I was making was clicking on the really handy "Watch Now" play button on the middle of the image that does everything but let you watch it now. Just above and to the right of this is a blue X, which will close the overlay. You should then be able to click on the regular play button. Why these sites have these features is beyond me
