I have been following their work since I was a teen. I found them to be entertaining at times.

Now I think it is time for them to retire.

Ace Frehley must have lived a clean **** free life because he hasn't aged and gained weight like the rest of them.

True, it is better to quit than to hobble forward.

I think that it would be good if the Rollig Stones had stopped touring in 1982.

Kiss is also similar rock-dinosaur.

Conclusion; When you're forty, you are forty.

The Rolling Stones were still good when I saw them in 1993

I think they should continue with the making of the rock music.

KISS need to hang it up. (ps. I was a big fan of them back in the day)

My favourite things about KISS :

(1) They inspired Wyld Stallyns.
(2) Ace is name-checked in the Weezer song "In The Garage" which is one of my favourites.
(3) Taz coming down to "War Machine" always instilled fear in his opponents.

Yes, I am joking. They were great. I have fond memories of tearing down country lanes with "Crazy Crazy Nights" blaring out ahead of an evening of **** and pool. And Gene Simmons is an incomparable business whore that will put his name or likeness on fucking anything, from coffins to condoms.

Were they ever really accepted in England? I know they toured there but figured most Brits thought they were bringing junk to their shores. Not surprised that you liked them SStify. You like professional wrestling. lol

Hard to say as I was small when they were in their prime, but anyone I know that is into the Bon Jovi/Def Leppard types also speak warmly of KISS.

Yes, KISS/wrestling would have been a ***** combination. I can totally imagine KISS performing Demolition's theme live for them. In structure, it's not that different from "War Machine."

They are very popular in Eastern Germany. Many people there sport the latter half of their logo as a tattoo.

I guess Vince McMahon was the only person that Gene wouldn't whore himself out for.

I guess even Gene has some standards.

There was a phase growing up that the two bands I listened to were KISS and this band...

They weren't hugely popular in the U.S. but enjoyed moderate success with a few radio hits. They were a big influence on Def Leppard

I loved them and hated that the singer died from alcoholism.

Spoken like a simple-minded not forty person.
I remember saying when I was so not forty, that I hoped I made it that long, and wished to "die at 40 on my 'bike with a joint in one hand and a can of **** in the other".
Well...on my 40th birthday I was on a ride with my new Shadow from N'Orlins to Guatemala. Just to do it...
I remember fervently thinking "NEVER MIND!"

KISS this...

I disagree. I think all the songs about true love, heartbreak, falling on tough times and so on, resonate more when they're written and performed by someone with some life experience, not some 20 year old scrote who's cut the arms off his Appetite For Destruction tour shirt.

He doesn't like the Stones...I never saw them til the '90s...just a fuckin' awesome rock band that hasn't died yet.:)

I'm sure he disapproves of Roy Orbison playing with the ancient George Harrison and decrepit Tom Petty, walker-using Bob Dylan, and Jeff Lynne the Elder...I'd **** for a last row behind a pillar seat to a Traveling Wilburys concert (back then, anyway).

Same for Elvis...he was always worth the price of admission.
Leslie West (Mountain), same.
I think assari needs to put his head back up that dark place he got this idea, and think about it some more.
Way to many really good musicians are old and/or fat...and really good still.
Not a lot, but enough.
Red Hot Chilis...still ass kickin.

Yeah, I'm not with the idea that there's some magic age threshhold (sp?) when one can no longer rock (there CANNOT BE!). If you can, do.

As for Kiss, I grew up with them as well. I bet they have inspired quite a few of todays artists to pick up instruments, much like the punk wave.

I've almost always been a fan of Rolling Stones.

But I think that 1981-1982 tour would have been a good ending for the band.

It is better to leave when the party is at its best.

KISS (rock band) (Parody)

Not a parody...it's a cover, or a rip off (I liked it, Bollywood can be fun), but someone needs to learn what a parody is.

Weird Al does parodies; Spaceballs is a parody of Star Wars...but this was NOT a parody.

And just like comedy, parody is not funny. (It's hard work.)

I blame the numerous "NOT" parody threads that have been popping up all over the Politics and Religion section...you know who you are.:anonymous

Yes, i was a member of the KISS ARMY. Damn, that was a long time ago. Got to see them at least twice back in the 70's here at The Cleveland Music Hall and at The Richfield Coliseum which is no more (i think in a blizzard too).

One of the all time greatest bands ever !

Dressed To **** is one of my alltime favourite rock n´roll albums.
