I like Tyrion and John Snow the best and am rooting for them, I guess because they are the underdogs. But Daenerys is actually the true heir to the throne by right.
Game of Thrones Wiki is a good reference for the back story.
it says the late king Robert Baratheon took the throne because ," Robert claimed the Iron Throne because he started the
war and ****** Prince Rhaegar personally.[8] Robert also had the best claim to the throne as a result of being related to the Targaryens of old through his ******'s side

i wonder if any other Characters are related to the Targaryens.

That totally depends on your viewpoint. If you're saying that Dany has the best claim to the throne because she would follow on from the Mad King because of a bloodline rather than by conquest, then it's worth remembering what Jorah Mormont told Dany in the first series : "Your ancestor Aegon the Conqueror didn't seize six of the kingdoms because they were his right, he had no right to them - he seized them because he could." Live by the *****, die by the *****. If Robert had the right to sit the throne, the rightful king of Westeros is Stannis. In fact, there is quite a list of people that have a better claim than the **** that sits there now. But then, I'd be lying if I said I thought the person on the throne at the end of ASOIAF was going to be a character that we've seen on TV yet.

Watching Tyrion's ****** verbally beat him down after he basically saved the throne I just wanted Tyrion to get up and say "Fuck this ****. Why do I even bother with this ******? I'm leaving with my hot former prostitute girlfriend. You can shove Casterly Rock up your ass."

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Thank goodness I was able to watch Game of Thrones later. It got the taste of that awful Mad Men premiere out of my mouth. It's amazing how much action (and good writing and acting - both missing from Mad Men) Game of Thrones is able to pack into one hour!

Damn straight! Doesn't mean that I can't like Tyrion and Jaime, though.

Jaime's a fucking legend. Everything he does, he does for what he foresees to be a noble cause. He's cunning and manipulative but everything he does, he does for those he loves, for his ******. He's always been there for Tyrion even though ****** and Cersei hated him, he refused to **** Ned Stark in a dishonourable manner outside Baelish's brothel, and he saved the smallfolk of King's Landing from being burned by the Mad King. All things considered, if you mentally ignore the part about him shagging his ****** since he was old enough to pitch a tent, he's a pretty good guy. Well, apart from ******* his own ****** to escape imprisonment by the Northmen, but that doesn't count. It wasn't in the fucking books.

Speaking of not in the books, I don't understand why the last episode tried to portray Catelyn as once having anything but hatred for Jon. What was the point of that scene? Then again, it's reasonably forgivable in comparison to Catelyn actually getting to warn Robb about breaking his oath and not marrying nurse bint, as opposed to him just coming back from The Crag and mumbling "hi ***, this is my... ummm..... wife....."

But yeah, Jaime. He gets all my favourite lines in television and book alike. They even gave Renly's best line from A Game Of Thrones ("the Hand takes the ****") to Jaime! Here are some excerpts from my favourite Jaime part ever - his discourse with Catelyn which in the books took place at Riverrun rather than one of Robb's camps.

"I'd invite you to sit, but your ******* has neglected to provide me a chair."
"A cell is a cell. Some under Casterly Rock make this one seem a sunlit garden. One day perhaps I'll show them to you."
"I seldom fling ******** from towers to improve their health. Yes, I meant for him to die."
"There are no men like me. There's only me."
"I may indeed have **** for honor, I won't deny it, but I have never yet hired anyone to do my *******."
"As for your Ned, he should have kissed the hand that slew Aerys, but he preferred to scorn the arse he found sitting on Robert's throne."

And from ASoS :
“It was that white cloak that soiled me, not the other way around.”

Most people I tell that Jaime is my favourite character look at me aghast, and point out that "the Lannisters are the bad guys, the Starks are the good guys." But then, most people are idiots. They clam up when I ask them if Tyrion is a "bad guy." Here is a quote that sums it up perfectly :

“The battle of good and evil is a great subject for any book and certainly for a fantasy book, but I think ultimately the battle between good and evil is weighed within the individual human heart and not necessarily between an army of people dressed in white and an army of people dressed in black. When I look at the world, I see that most real living breathing human beings are grey.”

That's enough out of me.

I like Jaime quite a lot, he's actually my 2nd favourite character. Second only to Eddard Stark.

Yeah, Jaime does have honor, I'll give him that. He also reminds me of Sawyer from Lost, not just in looks but in his cunning and intelligence.
I have a few questions. you seem to know a lot Mrs S. Why did he **** the mad king? Did he intentionally wait until the mad king ****** the Starks? Did he do it so his ****** would marry Robert? And why join the kings guard and forfeit all that money lands and titles?
Also, That woman knight put up a good fight with him, maybe he's slipping, or he was just weak from lack of nutrition.

This last episode was good. I hope those Tyrell women werent testing Sansa, setting her up as a traitor, but i think they were.
Also, that ******* and ****** new charactors seem pretty interesting.

Jaime ****** the Mad King during the sack of Kings' Landing. The Stark/Baratheon/Arryn men were on their way, but the city was actually sacked by the Lannisters who the Mad King had opened the city gates for because Grand Maester Pycelle advised him to ; Aerys believe the Lannisters to still be loyal to him, Pycelle knew different. The king was about to give his orders to the pyromancers to start blowing up the wildfire to destroy the entire city - he would rather the city burn than lose it to enemies - when Jaime stabbed him in him the back. This is where the quote comes from that Jaime gave in series 1 of "burn them all."

Lord Tywin then opened the gates when the Northmen arrived, and that's when Ned found Jaime sat on the Iron throne.

This was the culmination of Robert's Rebellion, the cause of which was the execution of Brandon and Lord Rickard after the former and several of his men rode to Kings Landing to demand explanation for the "**********" (a matter of some conjecture) of Lyanna Stark by Rhaegar Targaryen.

Also of note during the sack, if you recall Cersei saying "the Martells loathe us" in series 2, it's largely because during the sack a group of Lannister men led by The Mountain stormed the bedchamber of Rhaegar's wife, Elia Martell. Amory Lorch dragged the princess Rhaenys from under her parents' bed and stabbed her more than fifty times. The Mountain ****** the baby Prince Aegon by smashing his head against the wall, then ***** Elia with the baby's ***** and brains still on his hands, then he ****** her too. They presented the bodies to Robert wrapped in cloaks of Lannister red.

It's only afterwards that Robert married Cersei on the advice of Lord Arryn, both to thank Tywin for his aid in taking the city and unite their houses. Things would have worked out very differently if the Mad King had instead married Rhaegar to Cersei Lannister as Lord Tywin proposed (what with Rhaegar having no sisters to marry) but the Mad King rejected. It's possible that this slight was one of the reasons Tywin betrayed Aerys ; the other being that Aerys made Jaime one of his Kingsguard only to rob Tywin (who he was insanely jealous of) of his beloved *** and heir - which answers your fourth question. Jaime didn't choose the white cloak, it chose him.

There is a ton of good reading (well, other than reading the actual ASOIAF books) on the wikia pages, but I'd recommend avoiding them as they contain a **** ton of spoilers for people who watch the TV but haven't read the books. I mean, you don't really want to know who ******* who, who betrays who, who marries who and how many Targaryens are really running around, do you?
