Obama supporters losing their faith?

where are all the bumper sticker voters now? The recent "Investing in America, was more of a therapy session for supporters of Obama...some quotes,

"I'm exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change that I voted for."

"I've been told that I voted for a man who was going to change things in a meaningful way for the middle class and I'm still waiting, sir, I'm waiting. I still don't feel it yet."

It all starts to come clearly as the well deserved confrontation by the disillusionment of those who voted for him starts to grow...

or will the next two years produce a miracle ?

Well, she should be because Obama and his crew are doing a pretty woeful job of defending themselves...not by being on the defensive about what they're doing or not doing. But by blowing up the bluster, putting the circumstances in a factual context and demanding consistency from their critics. It took for Clinton to be out of office before he grew a pair and learned how to offensively defend himself by putting things in context and demanding the talking heads who criticize him be at least consistent.

His supporters ought to be worn down from trying to defend him because neither he nor his mouthpieces are putting GOPer attacks in perspective or some context for how it compares to other circumstances or their very own contradictions.

The very first thing Bush mouthpieces did for virtually every criticism was arm their supporters with some talking point or spin to mute the criticism. You criticize Bush for Iraq and the first thing they trot out is what Clinton did or Demos said...In most cases it's malarkey or some truism which is out of context.

Demos still just don't understand the simple reality that they will never get the graces of the other side. GOPers will never stop the misplaced, disingenuous, knowingly erroneous, criticisms of their political opponents. GOPers understand this and they don't want the graces of their political opponents. They want to beat them ...period, the end. And there are virtually no tactics they are ********* to engage in to bring this about. You don't have to win their hearts and mind...just mute their bullshit so that objective people don't fall victim to it.

That said Mr. Prez...allot of your less committed supporters will have a very difficult time defending you if you're not defending yourself. "Watch this drive" by Clinton.

i always hope each new president, each new congressional regime, each new supreme court justice will make a difference for america and the world, yet over and over the same **** keeps happening turns out our system's entropy is becoming virtually unstoppable

The Obama house is falling apart, yet Mega stands amidst the rubble and smoke, chin up to be the last one to turn the lights out.

I don't vote, so I don't give a rats ass.

People wanted him to do what was virtually impossible. It got even worse when he went into office facing an almost impossible situation that was one of the worst ever inherited by a president, and he probably is facing the most obstructionist tactics by an opposing party in generations that have no solutions of there own and the few they do are just going to make things worse.

Obama has been somewhat decent, but unfortunately mediocre president in a very bad time. There was never any way he was going to pull a rabbit out of his hat with no political or public will to do the things and make the sacrifices to make things better. Even his own party has lost focus. People can't expect the virtually impossible to happen and shouldn't complain when it doesn't happen.

I don't like saying this, but it's the truth. The American people are also at fault. Yes this means you. Not only have we allowed an elite rich few to rule us, not only have we not held politicians accountable for decades, but too many of us are more concerned about ourselves, taking care of number one, and what we can get instead of doing what's best for the most number of people, what's best for the least among us, and what's best for our society. A day of reckoning is coming, and for more than just our economy. The piper is going to come and collect on all the collected built up greed our country has. The only way to avoid is going to be making some tough sacrifices, going through hard times, and coming together to help one another for the betterment of all, and start doing it soon.

There needs to be a lot more people that will have to realize to keep our country from falling off they are going need to sacrifice to help others even if that means they get nothing out of it other than making our country stronger and helping those less fortunate then them. There is just no will to do it. Nobody wants to make the sacrifices. At best they just want somebody else to do it for them. People also want somebody else to snap their fingers and make all the bad things go away and it can't happen. So a lot of the blame falls on us. We want people to fix the problems somehow, but we don't want to create a situation where that's even possible. We are selfish to the point we are going to destroy ourselves. It's almost insane, but it's true. It's a sad fact of human nature. If fact we will bitch and complain to make that situation not happen if it inconvenience us somehow.

Rep to you DR for speaking the truth and looking past party politics which always happens on threads like these. I'm so sick of hearing republicans and democrats bash each other, point fingers and play political games when the truth is it is all of our faults. The party is over and there is a painful price that has to be paid, but unfortunately no one cares to help someone else if it means having to endure a lesser standard of living. This applies to every class across the board!

If he hadnt went into office with impossible expectations I don't think people would think nearly as badly of him. He's still better than Bush was.

......in better shape than the Republicans.

Can't get any worse than smoking rubble. Obama was built up as a messianic figure, now he's looked as a regular schmoe. That's a fairly big drop.:1orglaugh

I can't imagine why -- he's marginally less socially conservative than most prominent GOPers, inserts himself into no-win debates that don't benefit him politically, and took roughly 1 1/2 years to learn that the GOP has no interest in bipartisanship.

I don't know. I didn't vote cuz I wasn't old enough. I don't even know squat about the issues! I only **** that he ****** clove cigarettes, that bastard!

I just care about living my day-to-day life. Whatever happens, happens. I only care about myself cuz I'm a nihilist, so my vote is void.

Very true. I voted for him but I was fairly divided between him and McCain because I don't think much would be different now if either one was in place. Of course, in several years health care will be different, but the economy would be the same and we would be hearing the same complaints from the democrat side that we are currently hearing from the conservative side. But if McCain was put in, would we have the Tea Party? They're entertaining to watch.

My point is, here's who I am voting for in '12

Now, I am ready for change.
