People wanted him to do what was virtually impossible. It got even worse when he went into office facing an almost impossible situation that was one of the worst ever inherited by a president, and he probably is facing the most obstructionist tactics by an opposing party in generations that have no solutions of there own and the few they do are just going to make things worse.
Obama has been somewhat decent, but unfortunately mediocre president in a very bad time. There was never any way he was going to pull a rabbit out of his hat with no political or public will to do the things and make the sacrifices to make things better. Even his own party has lost focus. People can't expect the virtually impossible to happen and shouldn't complain when it doesn't happen.
I don't like saying this, but it's the truth. The American people are also at fault. Yes this means you. Not only have we allowed an elite rich few to rule us, not only have we not held politicians accountable for decades, but too many of us are more concerned about ourselves, taking care of number one, and what we can get instead of doing what's best for the most number of people, what's best for the least among us, and what's best for our society. A day of reckoning is coming, and for more than just our economy. The piper is going to come and collect on all the collected built up greed our country has. The only way to avoid is going to be making some tough sacrifices, going through hard times, and coming together to help one another for the betterment of all, and start doing it soon.
There needs to be a lot more people that will have to realize to keep our country from falling off they are going need to sacrifice to help others even if that means they get nothing out of it other than making our country stronger and helping those less fortunate then them. There is just no will to do it. Nobody wants to make the sacrifices. At best they just want somebody else to do it for them. People also want somebody else to snap their fingers and make all the bad things go away and it can't happen. So a lot of the blame falls on us. We want people to fix the problems somehow, but we don't want to create a situation where that's even possible. We are selfish to the point we are going to destroy ourselves. It's almost insane, but it's true. It's a sad fact of human nature. If fact we will bitch and complain to make that situation not happen if it inconvenience us somehow.
