Old guys thread - 35+

Stoners rule! When your young you do dumb thangs!

I belonged to a grope of guys call the stoners.

They would be called a gang now.

What we did was hang out together, and at the time when I belonged to it, only a few people smoked pot.

The rest of us didn't do *****.

:hatsoff: That sure as hell looks like the artist !

but I'll be damned if I can find the actual product. IIRC, It was a Topps™ product with the stale slender strip of bubble gum. lol

Damn ! Remember how good that bubble gum smelled ? :1orglaugh

I think it was the American athletes being far younger than myself, especially household name veterans in the NFL. That really make me "**** up."

As far as women, I've been into older women.

I completely agree with these statements, and I won't turn Thirty until May!

Three things to remember when you get older:

1. Never pass up a bathroom.
2. Never waste a hard-on.
3. Never trust a fart.

There was a real cycle war went on round here in the 70's. It was the Tommahawk and Choppers against the Strikers and Grifters. All four of them made by Rayleigh. The difference was the first two had a small front wheel and a big back one. The later two was pretty much impossible to break, except the gears chain on the Grifter. You was either with one group or the other.

This thread better keep going! I wanna join you cool guys on this thread in just over 5 years

:strikes gavel - calls the meeting to order:

Ladies and Gentlemen of TOFS (The Old Farts Society) - I hereby move that Senob be admitted to our august fraternity as an honorary member in advance of his thirty fifth year. Do I hear a second?

Can you tell me things about the 70's and the 80's?

But of course we can, Leggy. We may have to cumulatively pool our aged and rapidly dying brain cells to do so, but by all means ask away :)

During the Cold War we learned how to duck and cover to live through a Russian atomic bomb ******. They did not tell us we would be evaporated.

:1orglaugh Yes, sir. Hard to believe it's possible, but that was even more lame than Bushco's plastic sheet and duct tape solution to biological terrorism

Anybody living in the Seventies surely can't. We've either been political prisoners (oh, those Stammheim days!) or were too stoned to remember.

The only ones who vividly remember the 70ies are those disco morons we used to beat up every Saturday night. They could show you their scars. :D

I have faint recollections of moon boots, Afros, women wearing curlers at the grocery store, green Army parkas (yes, I am guilty of that, too! :o), street protests against everything, flokati rugs, having only three channels on TV, wallpapers in a hideous mix of orange, brown & white.

And miraculously, we had faith in our political leaders. No kidding! Willy Brandt, Salvador Allende, Moshe Dayan were admirirable figures. I believe, that was because there were still differences noticeable between them.

While a former **** judge who had deserters executed served as governor of a federal state in Southern Germany and all the other Nazis ran the banks and businesses, we were grateful for every glimmer of hope and a better world. The crushing of the Spring of Prague and the coup in Chile inflicted serious wounds. Willy Brandt kneeling in Warsaw symbolized a higher morality not found in today's politicians.

Enough! Where's my sheep?

I was still stripping off that type of wallpaper in the 90's when I was a decorator and worse.

I have good memories of the Clangers on TV, Ivor the Engine, Noggin the Nog, Swap Shop, Tiswas on them three TV channels. Then again we could say "It's Friday, it's 5 to 5 and it's time for.......CRACKERJACK!" I remember the day Channel 4 was launched too with Brookside making it four channels.

"Death Before Disco" was a very popular motto for many soldiers out in 'Nam.

No, I'm not kidding.
