Old guys thread - 35+

Heh. Acrylic key chains, car hop trays, the '57 Chevy Bel Air, satin and fleece leather jackets, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, hula hoops, metal doll houses, silly putty, Davy Crockett guns and coonskin caps, record players (heck, even toy record players!)....

.... ahh, ********* sure was different back then!

No "pill" and no Roe V Wade - birth control and "sex" were a whole lot different.
The "modern bikini" had just been invented and was slowly catching on in popularity.
**** still rode their bikes to school.
Jim Crow was alive and well, despite it being declared unconstitutional.

Heh! A different time.

cheers,

What do you mean old guys 35+

At 35, I was so damn young

I am 56, maybe old but surely not mature.

BTW, do you prefer to be old or mature ? At first tought I was going to write the reverse ( I am...mature but not old) but I can't help thinking that in the word MATURE there is something boring and resigned and conservative (and all these other words I don't know in English). These lyrics from DEVO described that type of guys.

mongoloid he was a mongoloid
one chromosome too many
mongoloid he was a mongoloid
happier than you and me
and he wore a hat
and he had a job
and he brought home the bacon
so that no one knew
mongoloid he was a mongoloid
his friends were unaware
mongoloid he was a mongoloid
nobody even cared

While old is relative. I am older than IMIHERE but younger than LEGZMAN and ROUGHNECK... so who cares ? It doesn't mean anything.

And the wise man would say:

"There is always a LEGZMAN or a ROUGHNECK to keep you forever young..."

I remember the miniture film reels I found in my big brothers room. The first porno I saw was Debbie does Dallas! I spent the next two years in juinor high trying to get a BJ. that was in 1977, man how times have changed

Just recently celebrated (not!) the big 5 oh
Couple that with being a behavioral adolescent and you've got the worst of both worlds :D

Define "grew up" lol.
I was born in 1957 so was 13 in 1970 ,so I think I grew up mostly in the 60s but for sure that process continued into the 70s and 80s and beyond maybe even.

This thread better keep going! I wanna join you cool guys on this thread in just over 5 years!

I feel like I have a lot more in common with this age group than some of the youngsters around here.

I can remember penny candy, less than $1/gallon gas, shag carpet, typewriters, the tail end of leisure suits, no internet or cell phones, no touch tone phones, etc....:helpme:
