Jackie Chan vs. Jet Li

Just kinda weird to see these two together in a film. Jackie chan is know for his funny sequences and Jet li is know for more serious scenes..

still, i'm sure as hell gonna see it.

I thought Jet Li was retiring from making martial arts films.

Oh well suppose money talks again.

Will look forward to it though. Be interesting on the way they work it with the different styles of the two stars.

I think Jet Li was just going to stop making those old style martial arts movies, not retiring from action movies in general. I've never heard of him until that one movie, but that Tony Jaa dudes moves are pretty sick as well.

No his statement actually said that he was retiring from martial arts films. He stated the reason he was getting to old and hurt to much after each days filming on action scenes.

I've never really liked his old style films. They always go all slow motion on the action scenes and ruins the action. The reason it's called action is because it's fast and in motion.

I'm sure I'll see this, but really, I can't stand Jackie Chan. He's a great motion picture martial artist and all, but his comedy is so lame to me. He just gets on my nerves for some reason. :dunno:

Once Upon A Time in China is my fav. Jet Li movie, followed by Hitman.

I'd like to see Sammo Hung in this movie too, for me Sammo is the second best martial artist ever, no-one beats Bruce Lee for the top !

Sorry but as always he'll be behind the camera on Jackie's film. This is common ever since they came to America. But he does sometimes get a cameo or some small part.

True, Sammo is indeed kept behind the camera in Jackie's American films, but give the guy credit, he is in his 60's at least and I believe Sammo isn't a big fan of doing films in the US, due to his insistance on usiing Full Bodily Contact in his HK films. I'm not too keen on Jackie's US movies either as they're so toned down from the days of Armour of God, Project A, Dragons Forever etc.

I liked Sammo's cameo in First Strike, he was a cyclist in skin-tight lycra:eek:

I think Jet Li makes the most brilliant martial arts films. his action and dramatic sequesnce are pure genius. no match to his action cept Bruce Lee. Long Live Bruce Lee.

Sammo's real claim to fame with American film goers is mainly that he was the first person to throw a punch in the big fight scene at the end of Enter the Dragon.

American film makers won't use full contact in their productions for two reasons. First is that the last time it was used Bruce Lee broke Chuck Norris's neck. Also the insurance is high on a martial art film as it is. But if they said they was going to be using full contact in the film it would go through the roof with the extra risks of injury.
