I haven't watched fencing in years, but is plastering your flag on your face a thing now?

It's both cool and hilarious at the same time.

You know...I don't know what it is about the host country. Seems like that's the time when their Olympic team does the best!:rolleyes: But kudos to Japan and Australia who've had good showings.

There's certainly something to be said about hometown advantage; having your friends, ****** etc there cheering you on. You're also accustomed to the climate/facilities etc.

And if you're in places where organized crime is a thing - the "locals" might be able to have their say in the results...

So I'm watching fencing right now, because that's what they show in the middle of the day during the Olympics...and I don't know how they score it or anything, but I'm wondering, what if one of the guys throws down his foil, grabs an icepick out of his vest, and stabs the other guy in the chest...how many points does he get for that?

Dude is a legend now. I never considering shooting a legit sport, but he is the highlight of olympics for me.

Imagine being his opponent with all the fancy gear, and this is the result.

Sorry if I'm seeming to be too jingoistic, but the French womens' basketball team are a bunch of whiny beeeechus.

I guess you've never tried shooting a clay pigeon. zipping across the ground. or flying across the sky, at about 40mph? It isn't easy strip. I will also assume, since you aren't into the sport, you really don't know how many different types of competition, and sponsors, and money can be involved. You should look into it.

You're right, I know nothing of shooting. I'm still against calling it an Olympic "sport", but the Dikec's vibe and owning the competition with nothing more than his glasses is just too awesome not to love.

It's been a part of the Olympics for quite a while. In the winter games they do the cross country skiing, with shooting rifles. Do you not consider that one either? And I have to ask why? It does take practice and dedication.

Biathlon has cross-country skiing, which is an athletic sport in anyone's books. And I know enough from paintball that aiming a rifle when you're gassed out is no easy task. Heck, if you wanted to combine the 100 meter dash with shooting, that's still a sport to me. "Run & ***" would be quite the event, and even have practical applications.

I think it's the physical exertion part for me. I'm against e-sports becoming Olympics events for the same reason.

Did you know that ****** dueling was an Olympic sport? Given the pain involved (they actually shot each other), I'm willing to give that a pass as well:

Not to get pollical, but I'm 100% on Imane Khelif's side.
She was born a woman and always has been one. She belongs in women's sports and any **** towards her is bullshit.

On top of which, Algeria isn't exactly LGBTQ+ friendly. There is no way she would have survived in that country if she was any of those letters.

I say she should be allowed to have 5 minutes in the ring with every online troll spewing **** against her. Actually, she doesn't need 5 minutes - just let her have 1 punch. That's all she needs.

This made me tear up a bit

I'm a little disappointed in this board. This is a porn board, we have a pole vaulter who missed a medal because of his junk, and not a single comment about it?

In a YLYL thread over on 4c, there is a nice webm with Michelle Obama's head on his body and she gets this "look" when her 'area' hit the bar.

Other than that, I live in a conservative state where they havent actually watched it, but they are surely disapproving of the.. I guess drag queen thing?

A blue (mostly) naked fellow and a bunch of queens doing the last supper? I imagine that didnt go over well with 99% of the world.
