Why? Because they aren't telling you every little detail. They know a lot more then they are saying, which is very smart, when it comes to trying to find, and convict the right person. Like I said, they know more then they're saying.
I alsosaw an article saying they're looking at an unsolved ****** in Oregon.

I read about both of these guys. We have seen countless stories about Bundy, but Rollings was a way out there too. He did some dismembering and posing of his victims. He ended up with the name, "The Gainesville Ripper". He was put to death several years ago.

Exactly. It would be irresponsible to blurt out all the leads they had. And this is one case they really need to get right.

Actually, I would love it if he were still alive. I wonder what insight he could bring as it relates to the murderous mind, of those that choose to commit some of these horrible acts, both spree and serial ******.

You might have a guy under surveillance and you don't want to risk him taking off just to satisfy the public's curiosity. If the police needs the public's help they may let out some details but if not protect the integrity and progress of the investigation.

I recall a friend of mine enrolled in forensic science/investigations telling me about how her courses taught her how to effectively hide a body so that it won't be discovered for over 100 years.

I was an Administration Of Justice guy in school. Had some good instructors and learned a lot from them. But, the more I learned the more I learned that I needed to learn more. I would have been a fool to use what I learned from a classroom to try to fool people who have applied the same science in the field for decades. You don't get a do-over if you make a rookie mistake and you will be on the run until you are eventually caught. Was life being over at 28 really worth it? Toothless illiterates have stayed in the wind longer than this "genius".
