I was reading about this in Saturday's The New York Times. Twenty people identified as part of the assassination plot. Eighteen were Colombian nationals who were mercenaries, ex-Colombia military. Two Haitian Americans involved too. Then two Colombian mercs ******. They are still looking for five others. Apparently, the President's security detail could possibly be at fault here. There was no shootings or return of gunfire by that team to protect President Jovenel Moise when these mercenaries stormed the President's home.
There could also be something brewing in Haiti's parliament too. Apparently the appointed Prime Minister is not authorized to speak on this matter. Government officials are blaming the Prime Minister and his political party members for a coup d'état.
Sounds like a real tragedy here.

Seems to me, if his security detail didn't get off round one, they very well may have been in on it. If someone puts a set of cross hairs on him from across the way, and were out of visual range, that's one thing, but if you have shooters pouring into your perimeter, SOMEBODY, at least one guy, could have drawn a weapon and got a round off.

I don't think they grow tobacco....never heard of any in the cigars I've smoked, although it seems like it's in that area, where you think they would.

Which is odd. It does take certain soil conditions to grow really good cigar tobacco, I have smoked many brands from, or brands that have Dominican fillers, but I just wonder why it's so different on one side, then the other. In fact several brands moved to the Dominican Rep. because of the Cuban embargo.

Thanks dude, I'll check it out. I know that there are several places in Central America where growing conditions are as optimal as Cuba, so it just seems odd to me that certain countries, like Haiti and Puerto Rico aren't involved in that money making venture. It has to be worth while, good cigars are not cheap.
