That's mainly hollow interior with enclosed halls and rooms on the outside of it. Sure on a engineer level I am sure some have to go "behind the scenes" however that would just be like in a mall. You go between the walls and between stores and whatnot, it will be all cords, power tubes, and vents, etc. etc.

fave is the romulan warbird, just looks cool, probably not as effecient as the others mentioned, but i'm a superficial space pilot so i'll go with the bad ass looking warbird.
