I wouldn't worry about losing Rooney for that long!
He would've just sprained his ankle, give it 10-14 days and he'll be fully fit!
It could actually be a blessing, he will get a long rest, and then return with a few weeks of the season to go, get back upto match fitness, get back on form, and he'll be ready for Englands World Cup Starting 11
I am not English so i dont know any but Beckham.
- Brian Ching
- Landon Donovan
- Wayne Rooney
- Edwin Rosario
- Ronaldinho
Thank you Jagger69 for taking the time to actually read this thread and put in a good list of players instead of doing what most Americans did and put a list of NFL stars in.
Personally, I think the best American player is Clint Dempsey.

You said football and not soccer so...
1. DeAngelo Williams
2. Peyton Manning
3. Steve Smith
4. Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson
5. Phillip Rivers
I'm generalizing here, but as is the case when I generalize, I don't give a shit: 90% of Americans believe soccer is irrelevant. So if you ask us to name our favorite footballers, these are the responses you're going to get. And don't let Jagger fool you. If he had to choose between an NFL game or an MLS game, he'd be watching American football. The rest of the world might enjoy the game you call football, but as a whole, we damn sure don't. Ask Beckham how much we care about it over here...
I didn't make the thread. Someone else did. Generalize that you a-hole! :thefinger
Get em Big Poppa Pump

While your latter statement is undeniably true AR but I am most certainly not trying to "fool" anyone. Here in Houston the Dynamo have been 2-time MLS champions and we are currently building a new stadium for them. They have become huge in H-town....with the Hispanic base to support them and all. I freely admit that I am undeniably not the biggest soccer fan in the world but I do follow the MLS in a more-than-casual fashion and I am a Dynamo fan.
The original poster asked a question and I answered it. I don't really follow NASCAR either but I would have no problem replying to a similar question about that "sport" as well.
Let's not always play the ugly American when we don't really have to. And we wonder why most of the world hates us?? :dunno:
