Your favorite Rock Band

Old thread - listening to Sonic Youth's "Washing Machine" and being totally blown away once again. Sonic Youth didn't do much great that I've heard after this album, but this album, "Sister", "Daydream Nation" are all amazing albums - and Death Valley '69 might be the single scariest pop song I've ever heard - even more than "They're Coming To Take Me Away Ha Ha", which would give me nightmares if I heard it when I was a kid.

I can't think of any bands with long careers that maintain excellence throughout, but if a band can do a few great albums, that's good enough

Pantera*
Metallica
G'n'R
Down
Led Zeppelin

* I'm taking that "all time favourite band" tag from my post, because whilst I am still a huge fan of the band, due to changes in my musical tastes I wouldn't call them my "favourite" anymore.

I could add many more bands to that list but I can't be bothered.

Metallica
Aerosmith
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
The Rolling Stones
The Beatles
Pearl Jam
Smashing Pumpkins
Van Halen with David Lee Roth (Sammy Hagar was just okay)

Children of Bodom, for their pure shredding talent and
In Flames, for their creative hardcore melodies.

favorite albums:
(COB)Hatebreeder, Follow the Reaper
(In Flames)Colony, Whoracle

No way in Hell I could just Pick one but Some of my Favorites are

Alice in Chains
Smile Empty Soul
Papa Roach
Metallica
Seether
Breaking Benjamin
Staind
Three Days Grace

Lamb Of God

I must mention though.
If it wasn't for Papa Roach I wouldn't be listening to metal.

StanScratch

My Penis Is Dancing!
The Beatles (who knew?)
The Rolling Stones
Sonic Youth
Pink Floyd
The Who
The Faces
Led Zeppelin
The Clash

Pretty much in that order.

That song alone, Washing Machine, is to me the ultimate Youth song. To me, a remarkable piece. Though Daydream Nation is by far their classic, I do like the stuff they have been doing recently. It seems they have managed to mellow, yet remain very sonic.

Pink Floyd......truly galactic......space rock baby......space rock......shaking the cosmos and its foundations......creating black holes and other things for me to look at while I am up here.......
