Had a conversation last day, again, about a topic that probably most have thought about:

What is your absolutely favorite food? To the point you would eat it for supper for a month, every day?

I have some guesses, but share your own, if you have some different one!

There are several ways to cook the mussels, my favoruite is "moules marinières" where they are cookes with white wine, shallots, parsley and butter

I like Pasta Carbonara. However the best pasta dish is pasta, olive oil, garlic, and parsley with or without the minced clams.

My problem is: I loved mussels in sauce made with white wine. Now I am sober, I would have to lo for another recipe. Yer: They are not my fave, even though I like them.

I know some folks who are sober, they use lemon juice

The first couple of weeks of August I smoked four racks of ribs, H-E-B had them on sale for $1.07/pound so I stocked up. After the fourth rack I realized I could forego ribs for a couple of months. A done-right cheeseburger with fries is hard to beat, but I'm really just an epicurean, love to eat.

I might try that!

Oh yes, I totally forgot ribs :)

Cheeseburger with Fries from the list.

Pizza, Spaghetti, Catfish, Chicken, Mashed Potatoes with gravy, Loaded backed potato, Chicken and Dumplings, Corn, Corn on the cob, Steak, Chinese, Seafood Tacos, Burritos, Eggs, bacon, sausage.... :yummie:

Though the ******* in the wine should burn off in the cooking. I do like chicken marsala and mushrooms ;)

In a related topic ...

My uncle used to put lemon juice in the pasta water instead of seasoning it with salt. :)

From the list I'll chose pizza. The thing is all of that bread I couldn't take every day for a month. Pork chops I could do. Marinade them. Stuff them. Grill or broil them. Bread them. Make a stew. Pork chops are my choice.

I voted "I have another favorite food". I don't know if I could eat anything every day for a month but I can eat burritos more often than any other type of food. Just switch them around a bit sometimes having a Breakfast Burrito when I **** up or change around my Suppertime Burritos between Beef and Chicken also buying them from different Burrito places or making them at home. Mmmmmm... I love Burritos.

^^ Have to agree with Dino, anything wrapped in a tortilla, which includes all kinds of tacos, corn tortillas or flour, fried or not, you can't go wrong.

Curries. There are too many varieties to narrow down to one and different flavours and textures to just pick one. Last night I was on Garlic Butter Chicken with red hot Peshwari naan straight out the tandoor with a little drizzle of runny honey on.

The pictures you've shown of those Street Tacos you get are like Food Porn to me. Both Texas and California are loaded with great Mexican Food. I used to eat some amazing Breakfast Tacos when I lived in Austin too. I also learned about Migas when I lived there.

The ******* burns off when you cook with *****...but the flavor might still remain, in some cases.

I voted for steak.....cause I do love me some dead cow, but I just saw smoked ribs...so, dry rub me up a couple of racks of those, preferably a Cajun rub. Some beans, a little spicy, and a big old pile of fries.

Butter chicken is a tad mild for me, I prefer the hotter end of the scale. Got to have a least one ruby a week or withdraw symptoms start to kick in. I enjoy chinese, tex/mex, italian etc, but when push comes to shove you can't beat Indian food in my opinion. Always better if you cook it yourself from scratch (this applies to all types of food).

Hey Chopper, how is the Mexican Food in England? Must be great to have a nice Mexican Dinner on a cold English night. What are your favorite things to eat? Can you get good tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tamales, and chili rellenos there?

I bet you have some great Indian places around. I like Indian Food also but am still at the stage where i have a lot to learn.
