I liked Whataburger when I lived in Austin. Taco Cabana is awful though. Worst substitute for El Pollo Loco ever. I remember some drive-thru BBQ that was good. Bill Miller's or something like that?

When I use to live in San Antonio, there was a burger place called Merf's. Their burgers were good, had this seasoning that would call me in the middle of the night. They also had crinkle fries which is rare in the burger field. Taco Cabana is the worst, never understood why people jocked that place. Bill Miller's was good until I discovered Dickey's Barbecue Pit. Boy, I sure do miss Texas

Whataburger and Dairy Queen are my two favorite "fast" food burger joints. When I want a real old fashioned burger I go to a place in Lufkin that can't be beat, Mom's Diner, they don't fuck around. I'd rather make my own barbecue, all the places in the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area trim all the fat off their brisket and couldn't smoke a decent rack of ribs to save their lives.

You ever have Fatburger anywhere before? That's my favorite burger joint. I eat a lot at Carl's Jr too which would be Hardee's elsewear. Also very good.

I don't have any of those places around except for DQ and I don't even know if they make burghers. Best burgher joint by me is Sonic. They are good and I can get them at 7AM. I used to go to Checkers but they are too salty. A buddy raves about 5 Guys. I tried it and at best it is ordinary. I don't care what these burgher critics and Zagat say, the shit is overrated. The fries are also overrated. Nothing there is any better than I can make at home with minimal effort. Fuddruckers makes a great burgher and I love their bun. Plus all of the toppings you add on your own, yum. Too bad the one by me closed. Cry for me, NJ has a burgher void.

Don't get me started on Sonic. Those Taste Bros are like titty dancers at The Wild Goose. You can look and admire the food but you'll never get close enough to touch it. The closest Sonic is like 60 miles from me but they run the commercials on a fucking loop.

They started running the ads here about 6 years back. My girl and I so wanted to go so I looked them up. The closest one was in FUCKING MICHAGIN! A year later we found one on the way to AC. We ordered about $70 but wanted everything breakfast and lunch. The cheesecake bites made her wet down there. Soon they started popping up everywhere including 2 miles from my house then 2 by Monmouth Park.

I remember when seeing an In 'n' Out Burger sign while driving on the freeway was a big deal. Be pointing at it like it was a sacred monument. Now there's a few by me. Great burgers but their fries are too potatoey, like eating a potato you picked up off the ground. Get a Double-Double then stop by Mickey D's for some fries on the way home.
