Reading stories like this make me glad that I am not a part of gaming culture anymore.

And by reading through this thread, I think you guys are being way too nice to this kid. People can blame the gaming industry, but at the end of the day, HE did this to himself. We're all porn fans here, but we don't let it control our lives. This kid should have gotten help if he thought he was seriously addicted to videogames (although I question if that is even possible).

He dies a while ago, there is no need to be nice though.

It is kind of like how long do you wait before making jokes.

I think enough time has passed.

My brother's kids will spend as much time as possible playing those fucking things. They are now pear-shaped. They have fucking cankles. One of them told me he wanted to play football and I told him, "That's great, if you wanna die. You're in terrible shape and I guarantee some kid who has been playing for five or six years will light you the fuck up." I told him I'd come over to my brother's place three or four times a week and we'd beat on old tires with 12 pound sledgehammers and drag old fire hoses filled with sand around the backyard and do some wind sprints until he was in the proper condition. He never called back. Lazy little turd.

I get bored of it after playing for like 1-2 hours.

I only play FIFA though, so i'm not playing all of these call of duty online shit.

I only play the story thing on COD once.

Playing football/soccer games are so much better, since if i do play them i am generally on my feet, or when i play online and i score or something i normally move my arms a lot, i.e putting them in the air to celebrate(since i am so competitive)

Video games had nothing to do with this kids lack of a social life where he'd rather sit at home and play video games rather than get up and take a walk once in a while.

I know people who read books, watch movies, TV, or just simply sit on a couch like a zombie and do nothing. Video games are no different. You gotta learn when to take a break.

Hell it's in the warning in manuals of games about taking a break after prolong play.

It does annoy when people come out and say "video games are bad" and sh*t. I've played Sega Master System, Genesis, PS1, 2 and 3 - and I've never died.

Though some people do take gaming too seriously, like games that have gangs in them. example GTA:SA. As to why there are a rise of gangs, etc. (UK I'm just going by).

Then you hear losers come out and say stuff like, " my son used a knife to kill (whoever) because of (whatever) game". That is just pure bullsh*t.

Blood clots are nothing to mess with, I almost got my ticket punched by them about a year ago, however mine were caused by a 10 1/2 surgery, smoking, and being laid up for a month doing nothing not playing video games. Now I am on blood thinner for most of my life but I don't smoke, I work out 4 times a week, and would rather play video games at the arcade so I can stand up.
