Once you take into account what a nation (world) of whiny pussies we've become (on the left and the right), just the thought that a group of average young men (not special ******) would volunteer for a virtual suicide mission, that would really be little more than a morale booster/PR campaign, you have to believe that theirs really was "The Greatest Generation". :hatsoff:

What the hell WAS on Joey's head anyways? I agree about Nickelback but I think Maroon 5 has taken over their mantle. Yeah I said it.

Back on topic. Rey C. thank you for posting that. I love military history and am always astounded by the absolute bravery and self-sacrifice of our armed ******, particularly those of The Greatest Generation who are leaving us daily. The Doolittle Raid shook the Japanese leadership and the Japanese in general to their core. The audacity of the Americans to bomb the Imperial City itself. No, you are not safe, you are not impervious and America is coming. And to save weight Doolittle had the guns in the rear turrets of the bombers removed and replaced with ... broomsticks.
