Wow. Nothing here yet about 50,000 "Refugees" returning to Syria for holidays.

You know, whenever I left a war zone for some R and R I was never categorized as a "refugee."

They should keep them the fuck out - no right to come back in, or be in Europe whatsoever, none. Then ship their fucking fraudulent extended families back to their homeland after that.

:angrymob: Two Yee-Haws in 5 minutes. Thanx for that Scott.

Yes, keep them the fuck out of Syria. And a resounding No to "be in Europe whatsoever". Yeeeeeee-Haaawwww!!! :angrymob:

OK, so I guess that leaves the US for them to come too. It's not like you gave them anywhere else to go. Thanx (again) for clearing all this up. You're the one I missed the most. Just kidding. Every time you don't projectile ***** your 1830s belief system on the rest of us, I forget you exist. Carry on.

I haven't seen any article about this. Ace, could you post some links ?

Sounds like exactly the opposite. According to what you quoted, they want to be part of an active society where they can be useful.

Will, knowing this is way beyond your capabilities, try and get to a point in your life where **** and derision aren't your default positions.

No, they are complaining. Supposedly they were taken in from a civil war in their own country.

Put in an area without war. Now they expect more.

They need to go back home now.

Will you're the one that has written a million words about people on food stamps. In the situation described, they sound like they are sitting around, collecting welfare and not doing anything to earn it. They want to earn it. They can't do that on a rock in the water that doubles as an old folks home.

Funnily enough, I have first hand experience in this sort of thing. Since they're no longer with us, I can reveal that my parents spent their last years on San Juan Island, WA. Look at it on Google maps. Basically a rock, in the water, where old people go to die. Add as little as 200 refugees and guess what? No jobs. SJI cannot handle 200 more of anyone. So if you're going to stick them there, you're putting them on welfare. And we all know how Will feels about welfare.

Seriously Will, you automatically putting the worst possible spin on everything is why I quit trying to like you a long time ago. And I did give it a good bit of effort.

Also, they've been settled in a remote part of Scottland, on a small Island (which isolates them from the rest of the country), far from any big city.
I would habe been much easier for them to settle, to learn english, to find a job, to blend in the community in a big city like Glasgow or even Maanchester, London, etc. rather than in a small town on an isolated scottish island. But still, they are thankful towards the people in their small city

Bute is picturesque but has high unemployment and Rothesay is in the top 15 per cent of the most deprived areas in Scotland.
Not exactly a place where refugees have the bst chance to successfully re-settle

The Syrian [...] recently downed a whole bottle of ****** as part of a failed suicide attempt that put him in hospital

No, I said people who can work and won't don't need to be on welfare. They should be in a back to work program.

So, I never said to end welfare completely.

You should like me.

These are Syrians who are refugees in Turkey.
In Turkey.
Not very significant in the whole vast scheme of things.
I think also that most Syrians would much rather go back home rather than live in Turkey.
If only the USA would stop arming and funding Al-Qaeuaeuada to destroy Syria maybe some day they can.
