Wow, I'm at a loss for words at what this board has become.

I still think making the sports and politics sections was a bad idea, instead of just keeping them in the regular talk section. It took away most of what made the talk section a bearable place to visit at the time it was done and turned the respective sections they went in into ghettos where less people post about those subjects and visited them and more people just get stupid with them. Now the talk section is filled with nonsensical redundant juvenile porn things most people don't give a crap about. ...And I used to think the hundred billion different variations of "who has the best ass", and "somebody vs. somebody" threads where bad years ago. It has nothing on what the section is like now. Instead of skipping over the handful to waste to get to the good threads I'm hunting for the one or two good bits each day the entire section has.

I just wish the threads and the people that post here would go back to how it was around 05, 06ish or even a few years after that. I miss the intelligent commentary. Even a few of the people I disagreed with didn't make themselves out to be stupid, and could form semi-coherent discussions. The porn discussions also mostly didn't sees like they were started by somebody that hasn't progressed past puberty and could actually have some maturity in them.

^^^ This is exactly it, right here. Not one unnecessary or misplaced word in the entire post and ALL of it right on the money. All the Politics and Sports sections did was create vacuums that got filled like landfills. I remember D-rock arguing against it, I argued against it, and we were the only ones. Everyone else at the time was all for it. And here we are.

I would like to know the logic behind eliminating the rule against more than one account. Bringing back the one account per person rule and getting rid of the trolls that argue with themselves would be a good start to cleaning up the board, and it's a rule that would be embraced by just about everyone.

I've been saying this for over a year now. Ever since the 'no rules' policy was implemented. The board is just full of trolls now and a lot of the good members have left for greener pastures.

I thought I would love the no rules policy when it was implemented, but I was wrong. It just intensified flame wars and gave trolls the freedom to do or say whatever they wanted without any consequences. We used to be able to debate topics reasonably without resorting to name calling. Discussions before the no rules policy were so much more constructive than anything we've had since. Now everything degenerates into name calling.

And I completely agree with D-rock. Now that sports and politics have their own section, people just post inane and random bullshit in the main talk forum. That used to be my favorite part of the board. When it encompassed everything, there were so many great topics to discuss. And since we had rules back then, the conversations about politics were actually spirited debates. The few shitty threads that were created were just ignored. But with everything separated, the talk forum is all about porn and irrelevant drivel now.

This place used to be so much fun. I hope it gets back there someday...

If anyone is being "boxed out", it's because they refuse to answer the question. And the evidence list of exactly this is ongoing. It's been specifically pointed out time and time again.

I'm not even sure I've ever expressed much agreement with Johan or addressed him or his posts more than maybe... two times? And Milano I have generally ignored or made vague but snide comments to. As far as Mayhem goes, early in my posting here he and I had a blow up, and honestly I'm not sure where he stands on me at all, whether he remembers the argument, still holds it against me, or whatever... so trying to paint he and I as a "gang" is... pretty questionable.

While I may occasionally express my opinion, and even debate it, you'd be hard pressed to suggest that I go around stuffing it in everyone's faces. Hell, the only negative topic I've ever made was criticizing Facebook for datamining. I am far from a zealot. As I've said, there are several reasonable conservative posters here who will tell you as much (and one already has ). Let's keep in mind that you are someone who has created a lengthy, volatile bitch thread about a subject, dragged it and your vitriol into multiple topics (you'll notice YOU are the one to started naming and poking at people, I never mentioned you at all until you decided to address me personally... but then I also tend not to think much about you, and generally ignore you), and you're also the one who is trying to start a boycott regarding something you disagree with, not me.
