Would you recognize Jesus if he came back?

So much to correct here. First, telling me that Jesus is the son of god doesn't excuse using the image of a white dude when Jesus was said to be from the Middle East. Saying he's special and therefore can't be from a certain race, ignores that he's literally from a certain race. Other wise he'd be an alien god like Xenu. The "when Jesus returns" has been debunked by the bible itself given it says he is to return during the first generation. That was almost 2000 years ago so obviously a generation dying after being told someone will return, makes zero sense. Also, saying god never changed his mind ignores the flooding the earth story. That's an act of rage and regret despite supposedly being all knowing. "I'm gonna kill everyone besides another incestuous family (Eve had sex with her sons and created multiple races of people some how) because I knew what humans would do but wanna punish them any way because I'm loco"

I fear we have another damned intelligent member here again. Next he/she will be spouting logic and common sense and then where will we be? Too much of that running around already.

Jesus is described as a tall and beared man.

If he looked the same as the other inhabitants of the Middle East at the time then one should find out what they looked like.

The natives of cool countries are often fair-skinned and the natives of sunny and warm countries are dark-skinned.

"The climate in Palestine, both today and at the time of Jesus, has two distinct seasons. The wet or rainy season runs from the mid-October to the mid-April while the dry season lasts from the mid-June to mid-September. During the dry season rainfall is rare. Although it can get very hot during summer, it often does not feel that way. Cool breezes and low humidity are typical, making the summers quite pleasant, especially in areas directly on the coast or on the higher slopes of the hills. During these months it is almost always sunny and the sky cloudless. Rain rarely falls during the summer because of the dominance of high-pressure zones. This provides challenges for farmers, who have to develop special methods for trapping water during the rainy season. During rainy season, although it does not rain every day, there can be significant rains that cause periodic flooding. While it gets cool in the winter and at higher altitudes (areas near Jerusalem and Bethlehem can even see snow), this is rare and usually limited to brief periods during December and January. Although the Bible refers snow in the area, it is mostly mentioned as occurring in the mountains to the north near Mt. Hermon.

It seems a reasonable conclusion that in Jesus’ day, the climate was noticeably more moderate and wet than it is today, with more trees. However, there still are many beautiful regions, especially in Galilee in the north. We ought not to overestimate the difference in climate between the ages; although it would be noticeable to people of His day, it would not astonish them. The decrease in the number of trees would likely be more noticeable to them than the slightly warmer, drier weather."

Playing with God's Will again Assari? Tsk tsk. The Almighty Himself decides what his Son should look like. You have no say in the matter.

What happened after Christ was crucified on Calvary Hill? Rain with terrible lightning and thunder. That's what happens when you play with God's Will.

Try not to get zapped.

Gregory Peck as Robert Thorn. Patrick Troughton as Father Brennan.

Even God's repesentatives on Earth are not immune as was this priest. He went against God's Will.

Was that God or Lucifer putting the end to Father Brennan? I tend to think it was God.

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Yep....he's gonna be the guy yelling at me for being the fuck up I was, and am. He'll be the one grabbing onto my ankle, to keep me ascending to the Heavens, as the rapture takes the pure to his kingdom.

For everyone else, he's the guy that looks like a Jew.

Easter, one of many holidays that are rip offs of Pagan traditions. For being so anti-pagan, Christianity loves its customs. Ishtar is who is recognized because she's the goddess of fertility. The eggs and rabbits are also symbols of fertility. Interesting the Church saw that and thought "this inspires me to write a story about rising from the dead".

If I saw Jesus I would mistake him for a hobo that lives under the Venice Bl/405 underpass.

Check out the burning bush...

Here's the most realistic picture we have of Moses in front of the burning bush:

Time for Joe Rogan to weigh in...

@Dino Velvet scores again.

Professor Benny Shanon's controversial hypothesis speculates that the key event of the Old Testament might refer to a psychedelic experience with N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT). Some varieties of Acacia trees that grow in the holy land contain this substance. In his article Biblical Entheogens: a Speculative Hypothesis, Shanon details parallels between the effects induced by the entheogen DMT-containing brew ayahuasca and the Bible's account of the life of Moses. Also Rick Strassman, who studied the effects of DMT on human subjects in experimental conditions,[35] suggests in his 2014 book DMT and the Soul of Prophecy: A New Science of Spiritual Revelation in the Hebrew Bible that DMT experiences may most closely resemble those visions found in the Hebrew Bible's model of prophecy.Google of the day: Biblical entheogen hypothesis

A religion based on hallucinogenic experiences. Sounds like the 1960's.

I grew up thinking Moses had a strong resemblance to Charlton Heston.

Well I don't really think Psychedelics had much to do with the beginnings of religion. People have been trying to explain the world around us since the beginning of time. I expect it didn't take to long for some folk to see the possibilities of religion. Power and money. Figure out a way to take credit for good things and avoid the blame for bad things. I am of the age that I have known and watched a lot of humans that I have seen enough of that to distrust any Religion. And if there was an all powerful God who controlled everything then I would expect to see only one World wide Religion with no other allowed or if he was a good God, needed. And this back to the dawn of recorded history. As I have said before, there may be an old White guy sitting on a throne behind the curtain of stars with billions of souls singing his praises but somehow I kinda doubt it.
