...be the league MVP year in year out, highest paid and highly endorsed player who never wins a championship

or

...key reserve, 4th line, well respected locker room guy who does the little things an gets no recognition but wins multiple championships.

I understand role players are integral to a teams success, but IMO, winning doesn't mean **** unless you're the man. I'd choose ringless MVP, anyday. You'll still be a legend.

I'd enjoy being an important part and probably couldn't handle all the fame and money that comes with being King **** of a sports team, and would be plenty happy with the compensation of the fame and money of even a low tier pro player. And while people might not have thought I was as great in my day, I'd probably get the recognition I deserved finally when I was too old to play, and by then, everyone would have probably forgotten the guy who couldn't manage a championship even at his peak.

If I was playing a lot, I'd choose key reserve. Like the 6th man in basketball.

But the #2 QB in football barely gets on the field unless the starter gets hurt. He's important as insurance, but riding pine can't be fun.

4th line? Is that a ******* reference?
