I used to love gadgets and gizmos. Now, not so much. Like someone said above, mobile devices can become like a ball & chain. A lot of companies use them to have a constant leash on employees - you can't get away!

We don't get to see each other that much now, so my gal-pal was sending sext messages and risque pics until I told her that her employer might be able to access her account - so she stopped. I've sent pictures (work related) and I've received texts. But as best I can remember, I've never sent a text message. The texting thing just never appealed to me. :dunno:

To quote that guy's voice mail in "The Hangover"

"Hey, this is Phil. Leave me a message, or don't, but do me a favor: don't text me, it's gay."

Texting is a fucking pain in the fucking ass,and the so called "text-speak" is fucking annoying .

However,I may be inclined to change my mind if I get a phone with a keypad......fuck it,probably not.

At least I know now I am not the only one without a cell phone.

I know a lot of people I know who own a cell phone every time it rings they immediately say: crap, dammit, this thing is always ringing, or something along that line. I think to myself, no one told you you have to take it with you every where you go.

Only time I'd ever want a cell phone is if I am doing lengthy traveling by car. So if something happens I can call right then and there for help.

Beyond that, if I want to talk to someone I will usually see them within a day or two, or if it should be urgent I will call them.

No one is that important to where I have to own another phone and number to give out.

I agree,that's why I only have a cell.I only used my phone line for dial-up,until I got hi-speed.

I use the cell as my only phone, and I don't have to always have it on.

I prefer texting. You can just get straight to the point without going through all the niceties of greetings and asking how the other person is, asking how his sister is doing after the operation on her crotch, etc., etc., etc. You have a question? Ask it, and you'll get a response. Simple and to the point.

Someone's sister had an operation on her crotch?? What happened? She fall on Shane Diesel the wrong way or something?
