Yes and yes. Even if it was a smaller country, if they attacked us (or supported an attack on us, like Afghanistan), I'm all for doing what needs to be done.
Where it gets harder is when you have situations like we've mostly had since the Korean War: we end up being asked to give our lives for someone else's country, cause or freedom. And I'm not necessarily down with that. I'm not a cop. So I generally mind my own business unless trouble knocks on my door. And Uncle Sam isn't a cop either. So I believe we need to mind our own business unless trouble knocks on our door.
