Although both technically have sex for money, they're two totally different things. Porn stars are performers. They're generally not there to get some guy off -they're there to create an illusion. Most porn stars (especially successful ones) get to pick who they work with and shoots include hours of makeup, preparation and filming. Plus there is regular STD testing and regulations. Comparing the two is like comparing a UFC fighter to some guy who likes to get into street fights.
Prostitution is regulated and there's regular testing in Reno, but everywhere else it's illegal and there are tons of risks and shady shit going on. And most prostitutes have no or little say in who they fuck or want to fuck.
I'm not knocking prostitutes and I think prostitution should be legal, but porn stars and prostitutes do two separate things. One is there to make strangers cum as quickly as possible and the other is there to create something that can be enjoyed by millions and most do it on their own terms.
What is the fascination with marrying a porn star? It doesn't matter how hot the chick is, when you are doing the hibbity dibbity with them they all seem the same to me. I'd rather have a non pornstar that can gnaw a rod as good as a porn star. Less headaches.
