Worse call by a ref in sports history

Saw a top ten on this on sportcentre yesterday...
for me the worse call was The triple play during the Blue Jay World Series when Kelly Gruber tagged the guy and the Ump missed it. You could see Gruber's glove bend as he touched the guy and the Ump still missed it..

what do you think is the worse in ALL world Sports

Agree with ********** but ex-aquo with Maradonas' "God's Hand" goal during World Cup 86 1/4 final between Argentina and England.

Everybody in the wolrd except the referee had seen that Diego scored with hit fist :ban:

persona non grata
Serena Williams - Jennifer Capriati in last years US Open. Serena hit a ball that was about a foot inside the line and the chair umpire overruled the linesman and called it out.

Well right now it is the call from the White Sox-Angels game. Fucking umpire should of made up his mine.

You couldn't be more right. That was a horrendous display by the umpiring crew. Not only did Josh Paul catch the third strike from Kelvim Escobar (which cannot be argued. The webbing of the glove was on the ground and the ball landed in the webbing: a fucking catch!), but Doug Eddings called A.J. Pierzynski out.

There is no reason that Eddings should have made the call. From his vantage point, he couldn't have seen the catch. However, that's where the rest of the umpires should have convened. They should've asked Eddings exactly what he saw and if he did in fact call Pierzynski out. That's their job: to get the call right! They just fucked up. If they would have simply ended the inning, the game would have gone to extra innings, ended fairly and free of controversy, and would not have been talked about again.

The fact that Eddings denies that he called Pierzynski out is infuriating. They were all so full of shit in the post-game press conference. They said the catch was inconclusive, while every unbiased sports personality in the country agrees that the ball was caught. However, I believe the Angels are tough-minded enough to get over this and put it to the Sox this weekend.
Doug Eddings :thefinger
Its personal now!
GO ANGELS

that has to be the greatest goal ever :D , it makes me laught when you think that maradona is about 5ft5 and the england keeper is over 6ft but maradona still out jumped him
for me the worst was the 1966 world cup final when the ref said the 3rd endland goal was over the line when it was clearly not a goal :(

Why am I not suprised by this response?..... :1orglaugh

my contender would have to be the penalty given by the ref in the WC2006 quals gaem Bahrein vs. Uzbekistan. The shame was so obvious that the game was repeated, and I can't remember what was the last time that happened.

Now, could anyone possibly remind me which teams were envolved in the NFL game when the refs didn't see a clear FG. Last year it was, I'm kinda thinking it was the Jets, but not to sure...
