World of Warcraft?

I started playing when the game first came out. I was Bigstorm on Daggerspine (horde shaman). I loved the game pre bc and i loved that you had to earn gear or earn pvp stuff. After bc came out the game took a turn that you really just needed to do small things for big rewards. I was always a high end raider and i loved the learing bosses and working with 40 guys getting thigs done.

Honestly the first time i saw a guy who had the same looking gear as me even tho i know my guild was the only horde guild in an instance. After checking his gear seeing thats his pvp gear looks the same as what i spent weeks earning. It killed the game for me. I slowly got bored with the game.

Wow has about 1-3 more years left in it before it dies or at least drops alot of players. There are alto of great games comming out and i bet even more then we know of that will come out in that time. With the rise of free games and the rise in graphics and with blizzard having starcraft 2 comming out they are just using wow as a cash cow till it dies.

The above posts sum it up for me. There's one thing I'd mention and thats the whole psychology behind it. In the game I worked towards a goal, for example, getting to level 60-70, while doing that I had moderate fun. Then when I turned 70 with several characters it was fun, I did some high end raiding and alot of pvp.

But the catch is half the time I had to grind experience and gold just to achieve that goal. So bassicly you end spending a shitload of time ingame doing annoying choirs you hate just to achieve a goal...and when you get there, you replace it with another, it never ended for me. I was never satisfied, there was always a better player out there, a better guild.

Also, a funny fact is you spend years ingame, building something, but you dont realise the game will only remain popular for so long. Give it another few years and the game is dead, and there you are, owner of a dozen lvl 80 characters with good gear, and in the end its not worth anything.

Whereas in real life you build something and you can benefit from it in the future.

Another funny fact is everyone in the game seems to think other people care about their gear and think theyre amazing because they have great gear. Noone cares, honestly. Alot of players want better gear to show off and be the best. The game takes almost no skills whatsoever, whatever gear you've got, it doesnt earn you much respect.

Well, thats how I feel about it anyway, my opinion is a tad bit negative, probably because I messed up and let it take over my life at some points, which I regret.

It is an amazing game (partly ruined by the changes Blizzard did to the game over the years), but if you cant control yourself and havent got the slightest bit of discipline it will take over your life, the game can become really addictive. And thats a fair warning to all people who decide to try an MMO in the future (yep, Star Wars The Old Republic is coming soon.... :p )

Cataclysm expansion might be fun! But I agree with earlier poster about the graphics needing an overhaul. The new content isn't as fun when you know it's going to look like a 2003 game.

I personally dont mind the graphics beeing a bit on the cartoony side, afterall, that's sort of what makes Warcraft Warcraft, imo.

Been playing the game for over 5 years with some RL friends, and I still enjoy the game. Tried some other MMOs over the years, but it's always been WoW that I've returned to.

Cataclysm deffo seems interesting with the whole reinventing-old-areas-thing, looking forward to the release.

I think WOW has way more than 1-3 years left in it. Blizzard actually does this little thing called marketing. The MMO I thought would have been dead is Everquest and EQ2 because SOE's marketing team consists of one retarded monkey who flunked marketing school (sorry to all the retarded monkies out there I just insulted).

after being hooked on Diablo II, I tend to stay as far away as possible from rpg games :D WoW was tempting, though, I'm a huge fan of the Warcraft series

I played shortly after beta - at the time my boyfriend was addicted and I was getting fucked less. After getting tired of the under-the-desk, blow jobs - I leveled the long grind to 60 enough to get into the same raiding guild. Those were the good ol' days. Where you had to work to play. Now everyone and their mother plays... literally. lol

I have two 80 priests actually. I always played horde, but decided to "dick" around with a draenei (they have hooves, but a nice booty). I haven't played in forever... but I started out as a mage and ended up kickin' ass and healing people. Who woulda pegged me for a healer?

I don't mind the cartoony graphics. I don't like to get to into the whole RPG thing. Just run around and kill sh*t and I'll heal you. We win! lol jk

Raiding used to be like a part time job. I don't have time for it anymore, but on Urisin horde, I am "Miaculpa" the BE priest and alliance urisn "Bangs" - draenei priest. People have always asked me why I was named "Bangs" ...

Miss you guys, nerdy or not ;) xoxox Brynn

I play WoW. Kind of getting back into it after a year off. Got two level 80s, Mage and Paladin. Alliance side. Need to start getting into raiding but its hard being a raiding noob.

Personally I can't wait until new expansion.....

About time this crap hole was liberated.

Havent played in awhile, but I ran toons on both sides and tried most classes

I still play. Gave it up for awhile but came back for Kung-Fu Panda. I have multiple toons at max level on the Alliance side so I just started leveling a few Whordies.

I let my subscription run out last week. The first time since day one of the release all those years ago that I'm not going to renew it.
I have lots of fun memories but it is time to move on.
