Windows 8 review

It is a lousy program.

It is confusing and contradictory.

I could almost say that it suck, but it would be rude and it may be that I just do not know how to use it yet.

It cost Ballmer his job (FINALLY!!!), so I like it. For the same reason, I'm also a big fan of the Surface slablet and the Zune/Windows phone.

So you agree that Windows 8 sucks like old fisherman?

To be fair, I've never used it. I've only heard the frustration from those who have. At work I use Windows 7 and at home I run Mac OSX and Windows XP and 7.

I got bit curious of this reference, is it related to making money? :fishing:

...but in the end I've heard this same old story about pretty much every version of windows, specially when they were just recently released.

I think the biggest difference between this version of Windows and most of the previous ones (even losers like Windows Me and Vista): this one is being blamed for contributing to a massive drop in PC sales.

windows 8 was **** from the very beginning stay with xp and 7. Windows 8 is the modern windows vista

Windows 8 is utter white dogshit and if my laptop ran it, I'd pine for the ex's Powerbook Pro that I used to keep my porn on use before we split up.

This forum works so well on Linux, you wouldn't believe it.

I'm using Windows 8. I like it :dunno:. Functionally it's just Windows 7 but it seems to run faster and starts up and shuts down in seconds. I'm not fond of the "start screen" but then, I barely use it anyway. I primarily rely on desktop icons... isn't that why we have GUIs, the ease of clicking those neat little boxes?

There is a stupid bug in windows 7 that doesnt allow you to manually re-arrange files within a folder. Microsoft didnt seem all that interested in fixing it and basically told people that they were morons for wanting this basic function that was provided in all earlier versions of windows. Never mind that a lot of business owners and photographers relied on it heavily. Was this fixed for windows 8?

Auto-arrange was made the default with Vista. You can remove it though. If you Google "windows 8 disable auto-arrange" I'm sure you'll find a number of options.

I've been using it for a little while and that's been my assessment. It has a few quirks I've had to get used to, but nothing to cry about.
