We can only hope. Although I'm sure "Murray Mania" wont be half as gut wrenchingly awful as all that "Henman Hill" business of a few years ago. Which truly was just awful.
Strange though that we have so much contempt for a player from our nation. Maybe the patriotic Uniion Jack should be out, and I should shout "Come on Murray!!!" at the top of my lungs?

'Murray Mania' Kinda puts me off watching anything to do with Wimbledon! After his little "I'm British when I loose and Scottish when I win" statement I don't care who knocks him out. Should have taken up the 'Caber' instead, the big 'Tosser' that he is :1orglaughThese are professional athletes performing to earn a living.
I have no idea why I should be expected to support a British player over a player from another country. Why should I support a player I find comparatively bland and whose game doesn't really excite me ?

Its great how we in Britain seem to love to slag off our sporting hopefuls. Yes the whole Henmania stuff was awful & he is a bit of a git but he was, at one time, number 4 in the world.
Murray is also a bit of an arsehole, but I hope he does well. I doubt if he'll win but I'll be supporting him even though he's scotch!

Without Nadal in the tourney, Wimby loses some lustre this year, sad to say. It's a shame that Feds will *stroll* to his championship and break Pete Sampras's record for total championships.
It appears that our British friends feel about Andy Murray as I feel about Andy Roddick. Is that a fair comparison? Andy is an overhyped 1-trick pony who crumbles under pressure and blames everyone for his failures....and he's Feds' b*tch. That's not someone I think will bring home the title...
I have to say that Wimbledon is the greatest tourney on the planet. It is total class, and I wish the Jabroneys who run the commercially crass US Open would take a page from the Brits.
