Why The Monetary Stimulus Didn't Work

Everything is in the tank............and Meg can still see the silver lining in an otherwise forgettable Presidency.

What would you have had the current president do, exactly?

Don't get me wrong - I'm no fan of Obama, but what do you think a president could possibly accomplish differently with what he inherited?

Seriously if he hadn't gone down the Keynesian route, economically speaking we'd be at least a smidgeon better than where we are now. However, he allowed those Harvard blowhards to influence his decisions which all failed.
Keynesian economics look nice on paper but are failures when put to real world practice.

...because the money was gven to corporate America and not the American people. For example, the three billion that was given to AIG could have been distibuted equally to the US population over the age of 18. That would be roughly $297,000 after taxes. Don't you think that would have fixed the economy rather quickly?:2 cents:

Obama's failing has only been in caving to GOPer loons who have no intention of square-dealing in the first place.

Otherwise his policies have obviously prevented full scale meltdown. I know facts be damned people like you and your types must keep beating the drum of failure...after all, if you say it long, loud and shrill enough weak-kneed progressives and indys will buy it as they're prone to do of GOPer bluster. So keep huffin' dents.:hatsoff:

Speaking of 'blowhards', did you actually answer the man's question?

You're like one of those goofy gawd, guns and gays bible thumpers...you have every single-solitary-scripture ready to quote but have no concept of the essence of the point of them--faith because you haven't lived a second of what you preach. Translation: You're so full of empty rhetoric that you can't even respond to the man's question with an answer supporting your bluster.

The man asked you a clear and concise question to which you fall back on your ideological scriptures and say (actually) nothing.:1orglaugh

What the fuck is a 'smidgeon better'. How is that quantified??

Let me save you some keystrokes...

'dents 1 response: "Oh Meg".

Nobama Otrauma was supposed to create jobs and bringing back wealth in the US, not only the unemployment rate didn't decrease but it remained stable approaching the 9.2% and the economical growth was really low, so the so called stimulus was useless. When you have a president who is a poor financial manager, you have disastrous over the long run results.

The day Obama took office the u/e rate was about 7.6 pct...(and climbing)..this was in the midst of the TARP program, bank bailouts, threatening auto bankruptcy and a stock market down halved to 6k points.

With the circumstances in banking and the auto industry that spelled at minimum economic paralysis in the interim no matter what was done.

The u/e rate went to a height of 10.1 almost a year after Obama took office and is now down a full point at about 9.1 pct.

What you and others don't seem to (want to) understand is if Obama did nothing, the u/e rate could have easily gone as high as the teens or 20s. Then what??

Instead Obama instituted policy which got money moving in the economy and as a result, the autos are heading back and other business sectors are experiencing profits...THEY'RE JUST NOT HIRING.

It's not because they don't have the capital or are being taxed or are worried one iota about what is coming form D.C.

They are not hiring because demand/consumption isn't requisitely high enough for them to add head count to meet it. SIMPLE-AS-THAT!!

Why you ask? IMO it's because the average consumer is still bogged down paying exorbitant prices for gasoline and not able to spend on other junk.

Fuck all the eggheaded Keynesian gobble-d-gook...the KEY is when we wrest oil and gas pricing back to some reasonable circumstance by dousing out the middle east...or wages grow (which they haven't in recent years) enough to mitigate them (not likely) the economies will be free to get out of this slow tick along IMO.

You got pretty close in your prediction, 'Mega. I guess he's starting to save himself some keystrokes now, though.

Dude I'm arguing with a zealot who makes Paul Begala look like a Militia member. Gimme a break.

Nice bluster but you weren't arguing with me and you're arguing with yourself at this point. All you had to do was answer the man's question with something sensible -- even if disagreeable.

You didn't even try. You went right into a load of talking point bullshit which didn't even touch on the question.

l/d: Okay Tri...WWYD?

Trident: Blah blah blah 'Otrauma' shouldn't have listened to his college educated theorist eggheads and things might have been slightly better...

Huh??? is right.

Would it have made it better if l/d just told you to scoop up that load of bullshit and tri again or anyone else? It was still bullshit no matter who alerts you to it.

I have to admit, you are good for a joke.:hatsoff:

Typical response Mr. Oboe Zealot.

Whoa!!:surprise: I just had a deja vu... Oh, no I didn't..it was just Trid saying the same ********* ****.

I keep waiting to give you the last word on this but you've convinced yourself you just have nothing else to add.

I don't blame you though..

One more shot, care to give the man an answer...

What Would You've Tried?:1orglaugh

Everything Obobo has done has been a failure. All of his Harvard Keynesian advisers and their Bizarro World economics have fed the fires.

Meg Social Security does not translate to an entire economic system based on Socialism/Communism such as those that existed in East Europe during the Cold War.

I get such a kick out of the well to do "socialists" like Meg who espouse Keynesian garbage that's been proven in both theoretical and real world environments to be abject failures. Nice job Meg.

Weiner's seat going Republican in a liberal, New York Democrat 3 to 1 district makes Obama toast. He is an utter failure.

If you're serious, I'm not sure if it is depressing or hilarious.

I wouldn't read anything into what fickle New Yorkers do in the way of politics.

Sometimes they're as dizzy as a blended fruit ***** when it comes to what they say/think/do.

Long and short of this story though...another GOPer hit job works against Demos again..not to stray too far but let's remember this was another Breitbart operation.

Chalk another up for GOPer tricksters, role-players and hacks.

When are Demos gonna stop falling for this??
