Why Obama and his minions are in a heap of trouble

the Truthteller And Helping Others Party.

I've often wondered how far you could get on a platform of just telling the truth to people and always choosing the greatest good for the greatest number of people. Even if you have to make a concession that hurts some, just be up front and explain it, like "I'm sorry you lost this, but it was necessary for all these other people to get this."

Would it work? Possibly. Guess we'll never know unless somebody tries it.

I have thought that so many times it is unbelievable. And, yet, here we are.

As for impeachment rules:
https://thehill.com/homenews/senate...-for-second-senate-impeachment-trial-of-trump

I still would not count on 67 Senators voting to convict him. Getting 34% of the Republican Senate caucus will be tough.
It's not like the first impeachment concerning his conversation with the Ukrainian President. This is much bigger. Donald Trump incited a riot with those Trump supporters in the United States Capitol Building on Wednesday. Five people died as a result. That's treasonous. He went against his oath to defend the Constitution. It is sedition and insurrection as The Lincoln Project calls it. President Trump also tried to extort and then he threatened the Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and Georgia Special Counsel Ryan Germany in that hour long telephone conversation to change certified election results. All of this violates the concept of a democracy and a fair election process. We'll see. Ben Sasse seems to be going that way in voting for impeachment. If Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell vote to convict. Ted Cruz will be sure to follow. And the rest of the Republicans will fall in line as well.

Better for him to resign then. He's done enough damage to our country.

And after it's all over, the Right has Trump to thank for losing the whole shootin' match. Pun unfortunately intended.

Did we miss Hillary getting indicted?

There sure was a lot of "Lock Her Up" bluster for that not to have happened. Mind boggling when you look back on the four year shit storm of the era of The Orange Pig that some of these deplorable asshats are still under the spell of the magical conman and want more of that orange shit.

I'm just going to put this out there and ask it as a general statement and not about any particular person. Why the hell do people always seem so sure some rich powerful person is likely to get in trouble and ever spend time in prison? That goes even more so if they have political power. I mean really, like the last four and a half thousand years of recorded human history hasn't taught people how foolish that notion often is by this point.

That's why I had to laugh a little inside about the people that actually thought Trump, or anybody like him is ever going to get thrown in jail no matter how much they deserve it. People really expect things like that?

Some, not many or all, do go to prison. The odds are not zero. People see one example and extrapolate from there.

For Trump, I don’t expect him to see the inside of a prison. For me, it is never having to see him run for President again.

Michael Cohen, Michael Flynn, Steve Bannon, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, Brad Parscale, George Papadopoulos, Chris Collins, & Corey Lewandowski all spent at least one night behind bars, so it can happen, and hopefully more of it will.

Let's potentially add the former CFO of the Trump Organization Allen Weisselberg to your growing list ...

I'd personally rather see him run for the Rep nomination again, and not even crack the top 5.
Having him rejected by his own party would be a far worse fate than him being thrown in some country-club jail.

Getting ‘fired’ after a couple primaries would be great. Unless something drastically changes between now and 2024, I don’t see it happening though.
