Why did I lost rep points after this forum change?

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Rep points are like the US dollar. They don't have any real value and are only as good as the Chinese government says they are.

Because so many members were hitting the rep limit the higher ups decided to change the system up a bit. You still have the same amount of rep points, just under a different system. Think about it like trading in dollars for Euros or something like that.
Those who have hit the rep cap still can't get anymore rep after the changes so there is still a cap, I've been positive repped twice and my number never went up :dunno:

That raises a question... I don't really care about my own rep. But I did notice that when I repped someone else, their number didn't change. So I wondered if they have any idea that I gave them positive rep? I mean, do they still get a notification, even if the number doesn't change? If not, then that kind of sucks. With Trebus gone, I don't really have anyone to trade negative rep with. But if someone makes a positive contribution, I would like them to know that I appreciated what they had to say. :(

They should raise the rep cap. I hit it ages ago. Now I have no way of measuring my ego and sense of self worth. It's very disheartening.

:D

If you click on Settings (formerly Profile) above right you can see a list of all the rep you've given and received, that's how I knew mine wasn't going up because my rep power was the same but had got 2 new recent reps.

I believe you can also point with your mouse on "board" and then click "profile"

It takes ages to get 1 rep point now, from the bits I've seen from Petra. I'm willing to bet there will be a thread about how the new rep is counted, as several changes have been made (including how much rep you can hand out, and how many people you have to rep before you are able to rep the same person again).

Petra? Or some FreeOnes team member? Care to clear this up once and for all?
