nearly every major star is overrated because the hype around them eventually builds to such a level that they typically can't humanly live up to their own legacy, like what happened with jenna jameson. she was a great pornstar and everything but her fame and reputation rose to such a level that it far surpassed her actual performances and productions.

I can respect that quote. And yeah, marketing CERTAINLY had a lot to do with it, plus music video & mainstream film apperances as well, too. Also anyone remember the old late night "Wild on E!" netowrk television? Her as well as a lot of the Wicked & Vivid Video gals were pretty much mainstays of that for over three years runnin' as well, too.
