I know this is not a thorough list, but hey I tried to bring some light to such a broad topic. I most probably failed but I have only lived through the administrations of only 4 of these presidents.
I will have to go with Bill Clinton, Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan as 1, 2, 3.
I think people will realize what a great president Clinton was in about 20 years when archival material is released and his administration can be examined more thoroughly. I think Eisenhower is heavily underrated because people accuse him of often times not being involved in the government, but the man presided over one of the greatest eras in U.S. history and at the near height of Cold War tensions and avoided major U.S. military involvement while both his predecessor (Truman) and his successor (essentially LBJ) did not. And I think Reagan is overrated. I commend his contributions to the neo-liberalist revolution and the economic boom of the second part of his administration but I think his role in bringing down the U.S.S.R. is exaggerated.
