Who is/was a 'Man's' Man?

Yul Brynner, definitely. Yul is a bad muthafucka. Go watch Invitation to a Gunfighter, then get back at me.

Bruce Lee, absolutely. The only Asian guy that is completely above and beyond the "small dick" stereotype. Think about it. That's no trivial feat.

Pierce Brosnan. The ultimate in smoothness, sophistication, charm, and confidence.

Lennox Lewis. Obviously tough as nails, but surprisingly, suave and debonair enough to give 007 a run for his money.

Gian Maria Volonte. Played the villain opposite Clint Eastwood in the first two films in the Dollars trilogy. Clint being an obvious choice, I was more impressed with Volonte, who held his own with Eastwood the entire time, and proved to be every bit as cool, as charismatic, and as tough as Clint.

Chow Yun Fat. Again, cool and fucking suave to the max. The man was the blueprint of the character of "Morpheus" in the Matrix trilogy. Nuff said.

George Clooney would kick the crap out of John Wayne.

M.D.C.- John Wayne was a nazi

You have lost the rest of your mind.

Clooney is one of the whiniest, liberals I've ever seen. Right next to Matt Damon for whining about Palin shooting a moose.

Also, smug.

The cloud of smug forms over South Park and begins to combine with that of San Francisco. McFriendly reveals that the cloud of smug from George Clooney's 78th Academy Awards acceptance speech.

Richard Simmons. I mean, he's definitely one man's man. :D

I answered this a couple of years ago, but I'll revisit it nonetheless.

Man's Men
1. Steve McQueen
2. Ted Williams
3. Tom Brady (even though he left an ex "high and dry" with child)
4. Ed Burns
5. Will Smith
6. Mark Messier
7. Laird Hamilton
8. Clint Eastwood
9. Bruce Willis
10. Frank Sinatra
11. JFK

Images can be very deceiving.

Rock Hudson was once considered a "mans man" and very masculine and all that till he got aids and died from it (which was tragic).

I guess John Wayne would fit most peoples image of being masculine and would have probably messed Clooney up in a fight (at equal ages) but he was a real right wing SOB and not nearly as smart and right about things as Clooney.:D

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
All-time top 5:

John Wayne
Humphrey Bogart
Robert Mitchum
Steve McQueen
Clint Eastwood

John Wayne is an American Icon, but he is just the Hollywood version of Ted Williams, imo.

Did Robert Mitchum ever film a romantic scene with a gorgeous babe? I think it was Burt Lancaster who was rolling around the beach with a hottie in a famous movie (From Here to Eternity)

Burt Lancaster in...Robert Mitchum out?

^^^^^

Not to mention Jane Russell who was hotter than both of them IMO at that time.

But Burt was a "mans man" as well.

And if he hasn't been mentioned we must mention Kirk Douglas who not only was a physical mans man but also as an actor made movies (at his demand sometimes against his studios real wishes) that had important messages, fought the hollyoood blacklisting stuff while mans man John Wayne was on the other side of that.Dalton Trumbo one of the blacklisted screenwriters worked for years under other names until Spartacus in 1959 when Douglas had his real name put in the screen credits, the red scare was over.Look at movies like Paths of Glory,Spartacus etc manly men who could and would fight but only for the right reasons.:glugglug:

I hope people like Wayne and Joe McCarthy had sleepness nights over the way they messed with people who just dared to maybe have slightly different ideas about social justice and govt then they did. The fear they created was all false there never was any real threat from internal communists in the US,we lived way to well for that lol.
