What's the appeal of older women?

I am a huge fan of MILFs and have been for some time. Anyway it got me thinking recently, what is it about older women that appeals so much to men? I mean thinking logically younger women should be considered way more attractive by men; younger women are youthful, healthier, more active and in general better looking.
So why then are men still so drawn to the more mature woman? What is the appeal, I personally think its an 'X' factor - something you cant really put your finger on.

Personally, I think it's pretty cool to see older women that are just as dirty as the younger porn stars, it goes against all the preconceptions of what older women should be like. Also, I've always said that age isn't really a factor in physical hotness, a 50 year old woman can look every day of 50 and still be hot.

We live in a society now where our younger females can't even walk around at night, where they are groped, raped and sometimes murdered for no reason. I like looking at pictures of older women because they seem more real. I can have a fantasy about being with one of them. They seem to have a more developed personality. I like that they usually have larger breasts and rounder asses. Most of the guys that I know that purposefully date older women, didn't have a functional mother figure growing up, due to alcoholism / divorce etc.
It's not like they're totally insecure or anything, they just seem to like the "lead" of an older woman. (surrogate mother figure).

Also, in many cases, older women (without children) who purposefully date or acquiesce to the nurturing needs of a younger guy do so because it provides them with a "sense" of fulfillment, having a young man around them as substitute for a son.
