I don't see anything wrong with an age difference as long as it's legal. Life is too short to worry about age.

I don't think you read the whole thread. It's not the age difference. it's the fact that she's a minor that bothered me. If she was 18 I wouldn't give a shit if I was 60.

I would be sort of the same way. It just seems too much that they would be taking advantage of somebody that doesn't know any better or isn't mature enough to make a decision that important.
Out of the thousands of people I have probably known that are or were 16 at the time I have known them I can think of a grand total of zero that were mature and smart enough to make a decision like that. Although a lot of them sure thought they did. Only a few of them were even close and all of them had the sense not to go out with a guy drastically older than them until they got at least a few years older. Maybe I'm just from a different world.

By that age, virtually everyone was physically mature enough to handle sex and there's no doubt that they were capable of understanding right from wrong. So why then doesn't the law reflect that instead of criminalising vast swathes of society?
