70%. Its more than half, but there is stuff out there that is redeeming.

Maybe it is nostalgia, but the stuff in the 90's & early 2000s was really interesting to me. You had an emerging Vivid and Wicked before they turned into cookie-cutter formula approach to every scene and crazy stuff from Rocco, and artistic fare from Michael Ninn or Suze Randall.

Looking at that stuff now, sure its played out (mainly because its the same 8 male stars over and again).

Someone said it in the other thread, but if you see any Gianna stuff, it (usually) never is boring or played out. Why? Because she (sells) that she's into the scene and its authentic (great actress, eh?).

There is plenty of stuff out there now; all types of genres that never existed before. The main problem is when they shoot just for shooting's sake. It becomes an assembly line of erotic commodities. So no matter what it is, if the actors and camera guy aren't into it, its gonna suck.

Of that 70% (for me), I'd say a good 50% is ruined simply by shitty camera work (slapping ball cam / more than half the frame is the dood) or obnoxious male personalities (15 min lead-ins focussed on the male talent or the camera man talking nonstop).

Really though, it comes down to those providing the service giving a shit about quality. No different from a dining experience. If they only care about right now and their personal comfort, not caring about the consumer (you're just someone making them do something, not a valued customer); you will not have a satisfying encounter. Same with porn. If the actors / directors aren't dedicated to enjoying the product they are providing (interested in getting you off), then the porn will suck

Good porn died after the 80s and 90s. About the best you can hope for now is to find the rare occasional bit here and there that doesn't suck. The women aren't as good, even if they on average look a little better (although the best back then were equal to the best now). They are more like mindless sex toys now than actual women. I also find the statement about how you think they have egos incredibly ironic. You should look into that saying about people that live in glass houses. Yours is even frailer than most.
