As I registered in another thread, your mother is from Bremen, isn't she? I am therefore curious whether you also speak the Bremen dialect, besides standard German and if you do, could you tell me something about typical features of that dialect? I think it is a Low German dialect, which is very different from the Standard, isn't it?
The "dialect" is very much the same as German spoken in Berlin,Munich,or elsewhere. My Mom is from Bremen. The accents are different, but I would not really call it a dialect.I consider it the same as the Southern and Northern phrases and accents here in the U.S. or even the British interpretations of the phrases and accents in English.

I speak English, Spanish, and Chinese. My parents are Chinese, I was born in the US, and Spanish is a growing language taught in school. I'm like Seraphim, first gen born in the US.

English, French (I went to a university in Wallonie, although all the studies were in English, so my French is heavily accented), German (lived there for 4 years), and Russian (lived there for one year).

I like the American accent when an American speaks in French, it is interesting to hear it, same comment for the German accent.

I was born in the U.S., so of course I can speak English, but am pretty proficient in spanish as well. Not bad for a gringo.

I'm ashamed to say only English.

I used to try and learn other european languages, french and german, but whenever i was over there trying to speak it they'd just look at me all confused. But if i spoke to them in english, they'd always understand me! So i gave up, seemed kinda pointless.
